Leftfield Entertainment has signed Crybaby Media - the casting and TV-development company founded and run by talent executive Danny Passman - to an overall deal, it was announced today by Leftfield Entertainment Vice President, Business Development & International, Ed Simpson. Crybaby will develop an array of unscripted projects across reality, lifestyle, docusoap and competition genres for the Leftfield Entertainment group, which encompasses Leftfield Pictures ("Pawn Stars"), Sirens Media ("Real Housewives of New Jersey") Loud TV ("Tiny House Nation") and Outpost Entertainment (PBS' "Icons"). Through his overall deal, he also will continue to work directly with networks to develop projects.

Said Simpson, "With Crybaby, Danny Passman created a valuable brand in his own right, honing an expertise that is at the heart of all reality TV: casting. His keen, innate sense of the types of 'characters' that resonate with both US and international audiences and buyers - and his ability to uncover them - helped make Crybaby the go-to shop for many production companies and networks producing reality TV. We're proud that Danny has chosen to make Leftfield his home and are excited to welcome him and his stellar team as we expand the programming slates across the Leftfield group."

Added Passman, "One thing you learn spearheading casting and development is that unscripted TV is a collaborative art. I've had the great fortune to work with some of television's most prominent and accomplished companies and producers, and while we've been successful across the business, the opportunity to focus on the Leftfield group will allow us to be even more strategic and creative. I'm excited to dig deep with everyone at Leftfield and help raise the bar for all of our network partners."

Passman founded Crybaby Media in 2010 as a reality television development and packaging company, working directly with networks and consulting with producers and production companies to help cast and develop their shows. The company's credits include "Down East Dickering" for History, "Thieves, Incorporated" for Food Network, "Hook, Line and Dinner" for Cooking Channel, "Very Barry Branson" for GAC, "Bulloch Family Ranch" for UP, "Brainstormers" for The Weather Channel (for LFE subsidiary Outpost Entertainment) and "Insane Pools: Off the Deep End" for ANIMAL Planet. Crybaby currently has projects in development at History, National Geographic Channel, OWN and Destination America, among others.

Prior to forming Crybaby Media, Passman was a development executive at VH1 and Fuse, where he developed projects such as "Pants Off Dance Off" and "Whitest Kids You Know." In the digital media space, he served as global head of programming and content acquisition at Joost, and as senior creative director at Dailymotion.
