Straight from the Broadway stage in her starring role in ANNIE, child star Taylor Richardson took to Twitter to share the news that she has been cast in the upcoming film, "A Most Violent Year", written and directed by J. C. Chandor.

According to her post, production on the project is currently underway: "@violentyear: Day one. cast/crew braving the cold and snow to start filming today on A Most Violent Year. Excited!"

Set in New York City in the early '1980's, 'A Most Violent Year' follows an immigrant couple (Jessica Chastain, Oscar Isaacs) that struggles with the dark, cold world of the big city. Richardson will portray their young daughter.

Richardson originated the role of 'Duffy' in the most recent revival of ANNIE before taking over the lead. The actress spoke exclusively to BroadwayWorld last year about making her Broadway debut in the beloved musical.

"I would have to say cause Annie is a light of hope for everyone," she explained. "Like to the orphans, she sings 'Maybe' to give them hope and she gives Daddy Warbucks hope and everybody in Hooverville. So she's like a ray of sunshine." (Read interview in full here!)

Richardson's regional credits include the role of Susan Waverly in Irvin Berlin's 'White Christmas' and 'Honk.'
