To celebrate Nebraska as a global resource for high quality beef, the first U.S. outpost of the UK's popular Burger & Lobster chainlet will offer free mini burgers to the public from noon to 2 pm on Friday, April 10. At some three ounces, they'll be larger than sliders and served up just like the restaurant's regular 10 ounce behemoth - patty of custom blend of three cuts of Nebraska beef on a white and black sesame seed potato brioche bun, house made pickles, pickled onions, shred iceberg lettuce, Burger & Lobster's proprietary burger sauce, beefsteak tomato slice, white Cheddar, American cheese and apple wood smoked bacon.

In addition to the free eats, those who take advantage of Burger & Lobster's largesse will have the rather unique-in-NYC bragging rights of glad-handing with Nebraska Governor Pete Rickettes, who will be in attendance, along with some Nebraska cattlemen, and be entertained by a jazz duo, who are twins and are from - you guessed it - Nebraska.

The Burger & Lobster mini-burger giveaway is part of a series of NYC activities designed to raise awareness of Nebraska as a global resource for beef on April 9 and 10 with the state's governor leading the drive. All the beef used at the six Burger & Lobster locations in the UK and the one in New York City is from Nebraska, amounting to seven ton (or 14,000 pounds) a month.

The other events will occur at: Bull and Bear Prime Steakhouse, a Wall Street favorite noted for its cuts of beef and its proclamation that Nebraska's Buffalo Bill frequented it; Empire Steak House, known for its beef dry-aging process and its signature USDA dry-aged porterhouse; and Ottomanelli Butcher Shop, a family-owned and operated business that carves out a corner of its shop specifically to promote beef from Nebraska.

Free mini-burgers will be available to the public at Burger & Lobster, located at 39 W. 19th Street from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10. For more information, please call (646) 833-7532 or visit, www.burgerandlobster.com
