NAPW honors Deborah Thomas-Cofrancesco, Owner / Director of Maywood Dance Center, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in Dance Instruction. As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 local chapters.

"My love of dance began when I took my first dance class at the age of three years old," says Maywood Dance Center Owner, Deborah Thomas-Cofrancesco, who was assisting classes by the time she was a preteen.

When she was 16 years old, she began training and working professionally in New York City. Ms. Thomas-Confrancesco performed with the Joe Frazier Revue, and has done production shows in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and at Lily Langtry's in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and in Montreal, Canada. She also performed off-Broadway and in musicals at dinner theaters in the tri-state area and on Cunard cruise ships. She has taught dance at numerous nursery schools, performing arts high schools and universities.

Ms. Thomas-Cofrancesco studied with some of the leading names in dance including Phil Black, Chuck Kelley, Henry LeTang, Germaine Salesberg, Frank Hatchet, Zena Rommett and the American Ballet Theater

Since taking over ownership of the Maywood Dance Center in 1995, it has become a staple in the community. Located in the borough of Maywood, New Jersey, the dance center offers instruction to students ages 2 through 82 for all style of dance, including D.R.E.A.M. - a unique program for boys and girls ages 2 to 5, lyrical / contemporary, ballet, hip-hop, tap, jazz and more. She is proud to serve generation to generation!

Awards & Accomplishments: B.A., Montclair University, Speech Arts and Theatre; American Association of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, Resident Dance Company has won numerous awards
