Metropolitan Ballet & Settlement Music School Perform to Perform 3/1 at Kurtz Center

Metropolitan Ballet Company (MBC) and students from Settlement Music School will present their annual collaborative performance on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Kurtz Center of William Penn Charter School, 3000 West School House Lane, Philadelphia, PA.

Settlement Music School students will perform with Metropolitan Ballet's 30-member classical dance company in a 90-minute tour de force, featuring musical ensembles, soloists, and original works for dancers and musicians.

The program will include three exciting contemporary premieres by guest choreographers Tommie?Waheed Evans of PHILADANCO!, NYC choreographer/Alvin Ailey Company dancer,

Kanji Segawa, and NYC choreographer/MBC Alumna Sarah Mettin.

The highly accomplished young musicians who study at various branches of Settlement Music School include The Myer Schwartz Advanced Study Piano Trio coached by piano faculty member Sandra Carlock; a piano trio coached by violin faculty member Jean Louise Shook, and solo performers, including cellist Haley Rasmussen, coached by cello faculty member Christine Danoff, Kristal Daniels, a soprano student of Judith Turano and violinist Brenden Zak, Advanced Study Student of Hirono Oka.

Tickets for the 7:00 pm performance on March 1, 2014 are $15.00 in advance or $18.00 at the door.
