'Gotta Dance!' Set for Ridgefield Playhouse Tonight

With choreography from Agnes de Mille to Bob Fosse to Jerome Robbins, is there anything more high-energy and electrifying than Broadway's iconic show-stopping dance numbers Directed by Daniel C. Levine (LES MISERABLES, Chicago), choreographed by Mark Myars (Wicked, If/Then)?with Musical Direction by Bryan Perri (Wicked, Chaplin), "Gotta Dance!" will bring some of the best numbers from Broadway stages to The Ridgefield Playhouse tonight, May 8, at 8 p.m.

This dance extravaganza features six leading Broadway dancers backed up by two Broadway vocalists and a live band, who will perform Broadway's most sensational show-off dances of all time from shows including Oklahoma!, Brigadoon, West Side Story, Hello Dolly, Mame, Fosse, Chicago, Sweet Charity, Cabaret, Evita, Contact, Movin' Out, Once, In The Heights, Hairspray, Mamma Mia! and Chorus Line. Celebrity and Tony Award Winning choreographers make video appearances to share backstage stories and their favorite clips of blockbuster dance performances. This dazzling romp through Broadway musicals and the great dance numbers that made musical theatre history will thrill! For those who saw "Broadway Backstage!" at the Playhouse, "Gotta Dance!" will blow you away. This is the perfect show for fans of Broadway and dance and is recommended for ages 8 & up. It is partially underwritten by Fred Astaire Dance Studio and is part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series. Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield) is offering a special prix-fixe menu the night of this event when tickets are presented; reservations suggested.
