Four Central Oklahoma dance companies have joined forces to raise money for tornado relief efforts with a special gala performance at 8 p.m. tonight, June 15 in the newly renovated Hudson Performance Hall, 2801 N.W. 27th St.

The one-night-only performance 'Dance United' will feature signature and new dance works by Hartel Dance Group, Oklahoma City Ballet, Perpetual Motion Dance and Race Dance. Oklahoma City Philharmonic soloists Sam Formicola, Peggy Payne and Valorie Tatge will play live during two Oklahoma City Ballet dances.

"Our thoughts are with everyone in Oklahoma affected by the recent devastating tornadoes," said Michelle Dexter, artistic director for Perpetual Motion Dance.

"Oklahoma is a tight knit community, and the local dance scene in Central Oklahoma is strong," Oklahoma City Ballet Artistic Director Robert Mills said. "We wanted to do something to help raise funds for those affected and to help us all heal."

Tickets are $25, and may be purchased in-person at the Oklahoma City Ballet offices, 7421 N. Classen Blvd., by phone at 405-843-9898, or at the door on the night of the performance.

All proceeds will be donated to the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross.
