Blue Lapis Light, the renowned aerial Dance Company, is thrilled to announce the launch of its first Indiegogo campaign to help with the construction of a new studio space. This space will be a state-of-the-art, green studio designed primarily for aerial dance. The campaign kicked off 11/2/13 with a $18,000 goal - and a plan to reach that goal by 1/1/14.

Remake Home, an aerial dance show by Blue Lapis Light and local youth through social service organizations, such as LifeWorks. Through modern, aerial and traditional dance these extraordinary youth will inspire and uplift audiences of all ages, performed today and tomorrow, December 3rd & 4th, 2013 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm at Boyd Vance Theatre (in the Carver Museum), 1165 Angelina St., Austin, TX 78702 Tickets are $10 through Blue Lapis Light's website, or by check & credit card at the door.

Blue Lapis Light will also be performing two free shows in downtown Austin to celebrate the holidays and promote the campaign on December 7th at 7:40pm and 8:25pm. Find more information here: http://bluelapislight.org/performances/

The new studio will not only help with the unique Dance Company's intricate rehearsal needs, but it will also enable Blue Lapis Light to host more aerial dance classes, providing more individuals with exposure to this intriguing dance form, and creating an income stream that enables the company to be less dependent on donors.

"As a non profit our vision is to integrate and inspire connection within our community," says Sally Jacques, Blue Lapis Light Founder. "We are currently in partnership with LifeWorks Youth. Through these collaborations we are able to work with extraordinary youth who have had limited exposure to the arts and dance. Our new studio will provide us with a planning space and potentially a final performance space for this program."

In early 2013 the company lost its rented studio due to growing development in Austin. After much consideration its solution was to purchase 2.75 acres in South Austin where the company hopes to build a permanent home.

The company hopes to raise $18,000 by 1/1/2014, and invites contributors to use the creative, and easy- to-use Indiegogo program that enables donors to contribute online.
