On Sunday, July 19, the Rubin Museum of Art, located on 17th Street at 7th Avenue, will host its annual summer Block Party. This is a day of amazing eats from STARR Events, family art-making, live performances, and free admission to the museum.

There will be a variety of activities and performances inspired by the Rubin's current exhibition, "Becoming Another: The Power of Masks," with connections to the art and ideas of the Himalayan region.

Food at the event will be a main highlight, with creations from STARR Events Chef Ali Loukzada of Cafe Serai, the Museum's restaurant. Items will include popcorn spiked with a special blend of Indian and Asian spices, homemade buffalo chicken and potato samosas, fresh mango lassies which are "Indian smoothies," as well as classics like burgers, Frito Pie and hot dogs. The ice cream will be provided by Van Leeuwen.

The Block Party is free and open to the public and includes free admission to the museum all day. This special event will happen rain or shine.

When: Sunday, July 19 from 1-4pm

Where: West 17th street between 6th and 7th Avenues (the block will be closed to traffic)

What: Food & beverages provided by STARR Events' Cafe Serai and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream
