Although the weather is still chilly, the Atlantic City Ballet is bringing the warmth to AC with their Spring 2015 Season. After an exciting start in August and ending their Fall season with Nutcracker, the Atlantic City Ballet returns with some new ballets and some old favorites.

There will also be some changes to their ticket prices. "Because Atlantic City has a 9% tax that is added to our tickets we wanted to make our performances more affordable, so now all our prices include that tax." says Alexandria Pieroni, Managing Director. "We've also added a student ticket to make our ballets more accessible to our younger audiences.

Now students can come see a performance for the price of about three Starbuck's Lattes." The season opens with the Young Chorographers Series on March 28th. Three of the company's dancers, Kristaps Kikulis, Aldeir Monteiro, and Sara Lonngren, will have the opportunity to showcase an original work. "This is a great opportunity for our dancers" says Ms. Papa. "They will ultimately be the next Directors and choreographers of future ballet companies, so they need to hone their craft. It's important to nurture that creativity, so we plan to make this an annual event." After both performances audience members will have the opportunity to speak to the choreographers and get some insight into their creative process.

The second ballet to be presented in April is Ms. Papa's full length Carmen and rounding out the season in May will be two ballets on one program, Caught Up In The Swing and Papa & Sinatra: Their Way. Variety is important when you are trying to build an audience, so the ballet is looking to give their audiences something different each time they attend. As an added bonus patrons who purchase a ticket to the April 18th performance of Carmen, will also gain admittance to the company's Membership Kick off Reception to be held in The Twenties Restaurant at The Claridge. Also this Spring the AC Ballet will be back at The Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ for a one night event of Carmen. Information about all these events can be found on the company's web site at www.acballlet.org. All performances will take place at The Celebrity Theater in the Claridge Hotel, A.C.
