American Repertory Ballet's Executive Director Vanessa Logan to Join Texas Ballet Theater

American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School announced today that Vanessa Logan will resign, effective July 29, 2016, as Executive Director. Logan will join Texas Ballet Theater, based in Fort Worth and Dallas, as their new Executive Director.

According to Charles Metcalf, Chair of the organization's Board of Trustees, "Vanessa has made significant contributions to our organization, and the progress under her leadership will continue to have positive impact in the months and years to come." He added, "We wish her all the best in her new role at Texas Ballet Theater."

Since Ms. Logan joined American Repertory Ballet in 2014, she has led the company through a period of success and key milestones, including ARB's return to New York City and The Joyce Theater as part of the José Limón Dance Foundation's 70th Anniversary earlier last year. In addition, under Logan's leadership, the company reorganized its administrative functions, increased key staff, and managed the transition to a new Director for the Princeton Ballet School following the retirement of long-time Director, Mary Pat Robertson.

Additional achievements include the creation of sensory-friendly productions for adults and children on the autism spectrum; the inclusion of ARB as the resident ballet company at the upcoming New Brunswick Performing Arts Center as announced by New Brunswick Mayor Jim Cahill at ARB's annual Gala in March of 2016; and securing the largest grant in the organization's history from the Middlesex County Freeholders Arts and Culture Trust. This critical funding will allow for an enhanced Princeton Ballet School presence in New Brunswick and Middlesex County, a commitment to creating school material in both Spanish and English, and creation a brand new story ballet choreographed by Artistic Director Douglas Martin in partnership with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra.

She added, "We achieved many initiatives in our plan for growth in branding, development and programming, and I am confident that ARB will continue to position itself for growth based on this good work across the organization."

American Repertory Ballet will launch a national Executive Director search to identify Logan's successor.

Princeton Ballet School has gained a national reputation for its excellent dance training since its founding in 1954 by Audrée Estey. It currently serves approximately 1,200 students, starting at age three, and includes a large open enrollment division for adults. Princeton Ballet School has studios in Cranbury, New Brunswick, and Princeton and offers classes in ballet, modern dance, jazz, hip-hop, CardioBallet and CoMBo (Conditioning for the Mind and Body). Students from the school have gone on to dance in professional ballet and contemporary dance companies in the United States and abroad. Graduates have danced with such diverse organizations as New York City Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Miami City Ballet, Complexions, Mark Morris Dance Company, Twyla Tharp, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Ballet West and on Broadway.
