Open seven days a week, today its hospital and The Vladimir Horowitz and Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center help more than 38,000 animals annually, and their numbers continue to grow. HSNY's Adoption Center provides a safe haven- with no time limit - for rescued animals of all ages until permanent adoptive homes are found. MELISSA MANCHESTER

November 5-7 at 7PM

November 7 at 9:30PM

$55-65 cover charge. $110 premium seating. $25 food and beverage minimum.

After a triumphant debut at Feinstein's/54 Below last March, Melissa Manchester returns with a brand new show! Her last engagement at Feinstein's/54 Below inspired The New York Times to write, "Frisky and ebullient... Manchester effused the high spirits of someone who had shed a heavy weight and was still dizzy with her freedom and sense of possibility... her rugged, chesty voice is as formidable as ever!" In "I Happen To Like New York," Melissa will pay tribute to one of her New York musical torch bearers, Laura Nyro. Melissa will be recounting the New York locations from her own early career that inspired the writing (and performing) of her classic songs over the years. She will also debut material from the newest theatrical production she is co-writing with Sharon Vaughn and Rupert Holmes, Sweet Potato Queens: THE MUSICAL. The full production of the show will have its world premiere at Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) in Houston in March. Manchester's career is remarkable not only for its longevity and accomplishments, but for its versatility. Following her stint as a founding member of Bette Midler's Harlettes, Manchester's tremendously successful solo career brought her critical and commercial acclaim. The "Midnight Blue" singer received her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance for the Peter Allen/Carole Bayer Sager-penned "Don't Cry Out Loud," winning the Grammy in that category in 1979 then again for four years later for "You Should Hear How She Talks About You." Two songs she performed, "Through The Eyes Of Love" and "The Promise," were nominated for Oscars in the same year. She has appeared on both the large screen in movies (For The Boys) and small screen in television (Blossom), as well as the stage, including co-creating the Ovation-nominated ballroom dance extravaganza Fascinating Rhythms.

With the chosen songs, she embodies the perfect re-enactment of a mix between Edith Piaf and Marilyn Monroe; deep, powerful, fun and sexy all at once." -Miguel Dominguez, NYC Culture & Style Magazine. Myriam Phiro is known on the cabaret scene for her charisma and her powerful renditions of old-time favorites. Now, in her Feinstein's/54 Below debut, Myriam guides us through the decadent world of Edith Piaf using her timeless songs to retell the life of this iconic performer. Accompanied by a traditional musette band and multi-disciplinary backup singers, Ms. Phiro and the ensemble recreate the brothels, circuses and nightclubs that created the great Piaf we all know. Elements of Piaf's early life, such as her street performing years, the numerous miracles of her life, her poignant love affairs, and her astonishing career, are some of the topics explored during the show. Songs like "La vie en rose," "Non, je ne regrette rien," "Hymne à l'amour," and "Milord" are performed and acted out by Ms. Phiro and the cast. Piaf is revealed like never before: the show leads the audience to discover the woman behind the icon, with sensitivity, humor, poignant scenes, variety, and music.

LIZ ROBERTSON: SONGS FROM MY TRUNK

November 18 at 9:30PM

$35-45 cover charge. $75 premium seating. $25 food and beverage minimum.

From the West End to Broadway, Liz Robertson is revered as theatre royalty, a permanent fixture in the glittering world of musical leading ladies. Audiences have been enthralled by her exquisite voice, her subtlety, and taste. Over the years she's worked with every major musical theatre composer from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim, to Rodgers and Hammerstein and, of course, her late husband Alan Jay Lerner. But she's now decided to mix things up musically and show people a different side with Songs From My Trunk. In it, Liz unveils an eclectic collection of songs from Van Morrison's "Someone Like You" and the Beatles' "Here There and Everywhere," to "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys and Ann Hampton Callaway's "Bring Back Romance," plus songs from the Great American Songbook. As a very young actress/singer, Liz came to public attention starring as Eliza Doolittle in the 1979 London revival of My Fair Lady, a role for which she won the Variety Club's Most Promising Actress award and, not incidentally, won its lyricist, Alan J. Lerner. She has led the cast in a string of impressive and popular musicals, including the original productions of Song and Dance and Side By Side By Sondheim, Stepping Out, The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, and Love Never Dies in the West End. "From a young age, I wanted to sound like the popstars of my era... or to be sexy, down and dirty like Ella, Nina and Cleo, but there was nothing warm and smoky in my sound. Now is the time to start exploring those new notes with songs that I have always desired to sing but never could without sounding ridiculous. So here we are, experimenting....at my age!" -Liz Robertson.
