Theatre Frisco will be presenting Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's award winning musical, Evita. Evita charts the young and ambitious Eva Peron's meteoric rise to sainthood. Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the Tony-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as wife of military leader-turned-president Juan Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America, before her death from cancer at age 33.

Theatre Frisco's production will feature a cast and production team including long time veterans of the DFW theatre community. Well-loved singer/actress, Rebecca Paige, will be taking on the title role, joined by Darret Hart as Peron, Aaron Gallagher as Che and Chris Edwards as Magaldi. "This is a fairly large undertaking, with a cast of 20 and a 7 piece band", says director, Neale Whitmore. Shane Hurst is providing music direction and Kelly Holmes is handling the choreography.

Evita performances will be at The Black Box Theatre in the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N Dallas Pkwy, Frisco. The Shows will run June 2 - June 18, with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8:00 and Sunday matinees at 2:30. There will be an extra 2:30 matinee on Saturday, June 17. Special Note: Due to the Jimmy Buffet concert, Saturday, June 10, the performance will be at 2:30 instead of 8:00. Reserved seating tickets and more information are available at theatrefrisco.com or by calling 972-370-2266. Tickets are $22.00 with discounts available for students, seniors and military.
