Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, will offer an Improv for Business class for adults for one afternoon each month at MONDO, with the first class beginning today, February 26.

Artistic Director Laura Ekstrand (Livingston) will teach this 4-session class, running Thursdays from 1:00-2:30 pm on February 26, March 26, April 30 and May 28. Held at MONDO, 426 Springfield Avenue in Summit, the class uses the technique of improvisation to develop skills that all professionals need: listening sensitively, responding spontaneously under unfamiliar circumstances, and presenting and promoting ourselves well when we don't know exactly what the other person's needs and interests are. Students will learn how to turn these tricky situations into opportunities for them to shine and to express themselves.

The group will participate in exercises and games designed to improve their ability to listen, read body language, and truly collaborate. This class is an opportunity for those who participated in the Lunch and Learn workshop and also for new students, and promises to be an enjoyable, unique way to unlock their individuality and to connect with more immediacy and openness. Ekstrand has been the Artistic Director of Dreamcatcher for the past twenty years, with thirteen years of experience as an improv performer and teacher. The cost for this class is $120.

Classes will be held at MONDO Summit, located at 426 Springfield Avenue in Summit. Parking is available in the garage behind the building, in nearby municipal lots and on the street. The facility is wheelchair accessible.
