BroadwayWorld has learned this morning that casting we previously reported for the Toronto production of Kinky Boots has been confirmed. American Broadway touring vet Alan Mingo Jr. will star as Lola - the role originated by Billy Porter in the Broadway production. Graham Scott Fleming will play Charlie Price, the young man who inherits a shoe factory from his father, only to learn it isn't financially stable.

AJ Bridel, of CBC's Over the Rainbow fame will star as Lauren - the hilariously awkward female lead who has the hots for Charlie but doesn't quite know how to ask him out. Bridel most recently played Dorothy in The Wizard of OZ in a production produced by Drayton Entertainment.

The featured cast includes Daniel Williston as Don, Vanessa Sears as Nicola, and James Kall as George.

The ensemble of Kinky Boots includes: Thomas Alderson, Andre Anthony, Nicola Dawn Brook, Patrick Cook, Dan Domenech, Lisa Horner, David Houle, David Lopez, Stewart Adam McKensy, Julia Mclellan, Kristen Peace, Erica Peck, Andrew Scanlon, David Silvestri, Jivaro Smith, Justin Stadnyk, Geoff Stevens, Madeleine Suddaby, Jesse Weafer, Cleopatra Williams, Ryan Wilson and Sandy Winsby.

Kinky Boots, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning hit musical, celebrated two-year anniversary on Broadway on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Featuring a Tony Award-winning score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, opened to rave reviews on April 4, 2013, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th St), where it's played 835 performances for over a million people... and counting!

Kinky Boots won six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score (Cyndi Lauper), Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Actor (Billy Porter), Best Orchestrations (Stephen Oremus), and Best Sound Design (John Shivers). In September 2014, Kinky Boots launched its First National Tour, which is doing record-breaking business throughout the country. A Korean-language production ran in Korea from December 2014 - February 2015, and the London production is set to open at the Adelphi Theatre beginning August 21 of this year.

Kinky Boots tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family's struggling business. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, the unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world.

Tickets for the Toronto engagement of Kinky Boots are currently on sale at Mirvish.com. Performances begin on June 16th at The Royal Alexandra Theatre. Tickets for this open-ended run are currently on sale through September 12th, 2015.
