MusicalFare Theatre has announced the creation of a new art gallery space as part of its recent expansion: The George and Mary Bobinski Gallery. The gallery officially opened on April 23rd as part of the official opening of the Premier Center Cabaret at MusicalFare, where it is located.

Gallery exhibits are planned to rotate with each MusicalFare Mainstage production and may, at times, reflect themes of that production. New artists will then be featured on a regular basis as part of MusicalFare's efforts to integrate even more with other disciplines within the WNY cultural community. All displayed artwork is for sale by the artist.

The current gallery exhibition consists of work by artist, Karl Kipp. Below, he tells us about himself in his own words:

"I have always had an interest in art. I am self taught and, as such, have not had a predetermined approach to my chosen media through the opinions and rules laid down by others. My techniques have been formulated by testing different methods of using my tools, sometimes good, sometimes not, but experience is gained from both. I have, of course, studied the works of other artists, acquiring both inspiration and insight from the way they present their subjects."

"Primarily the media I use is graphite, both regular and water soluble, to render my creations on 70lb to 140lb art paper, depending on the effect desired. I have been producing artwork in one form or another most of my life, first as a hobby, later in business for advertising purposes and eventually, as appreciation for my style grew, taking on commissioned work to portray a business, an old homestead or a favorite boat, for example."

"The body of my work presently is of historic value, such as old buildings, bridges and historic sites no longer in existence. I feel a certain responsibility to preserve parts of the past, where I can, for the future."

MusicalFare Theatre is a professional musical theatre company in residence at, but independently operated from, Daemen College. MusicalFare Theatre is located at 4380 Main Street in Amherst, NY (between Harlem and Getzville Roads). Parking is FREE, and the theatre is handicapped accessible, complete with a hearing-impaired system.
