Single tickets to the 2011 Glimmerglass Festival are on sale now.

The first season under new Artistic & General Director Francesca Zambello, the 2011 Festival features new productions of Bizet's Carmen, Cherubini's Medea, Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun and a double bill of two new operas highlighting American artists. The double bill features the world-premiere of A Blizzard in Marblehead Neck, a Glimmerglass-commissioned work about an episode in playwright Eugene O'Neill's life by composer Jeanine Tesori and playwright Tony Kushner, and the professional premiere of John Musto and Mark Campbell's acclaimed Later the Same Evening based on five Edward Hopper paintings. The four productions run in rotation in the Alice Busch Opera Theater, July 2 through August 23, 2011. Tickets start at $26 and range to $126.

The four mainstage productions are supplemented by an array of events including Meet Me at the Pavilion, a new series of special performances on the Glimmerglass campus. Meet Me at the Pavilion features special musical performances by world-renowned soprano Deborah Voigt, composer John Musto and soprano Amy Burton, baritone Rod Gilfry and Glimmerglass Festival Young Artists. Each of these performances is priced at only $10 for adults and $5 for youths.

Tickets for Voigt Lessons, a one-woman show on July 29 at 3 p.m. featuring Deborah Voigt, are on sale as well. Created by Voigt, Terrence McNally and Zambello, this program takes place in the Alice Busch Opera Theater and is donated by Voigt to benefit The Glimmerglass Festival. Tickets are 100 percent tax deductible and range from $25 to $75 for adults and are $10 for youths. Voigt also stars as Annie in the company's summer production of Annie Get Your Gun.

Baritone Nathan Gunn was last seen at Glimmerglass in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia in 2001 and returns to Cooperstown this summer for a special concert August 12 at 3 p.m. in the Alice Busch Opera Theater. Gunn presents a program of lieder and American songs, accompanied by Julie Gunn. This concert, priced at $25 to $75, is donated by the performers and tickets are 100 percent tax deductible. Youth tickets are $10.

Glimmerglass Young Artists, singers involved in the company's apprentice program, present a special performance of Carmen, on August 5 at 1:30 p.m. in the Alice Busch Opera Theater. Tickets are $25 and $10 for youths.

Young Artists also present an engaging introduction to opera with special concerts on July 17 at 1:30 p.m. and August 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alice Busch Opera Theater. Arias and Asides: An Introduction to Opera features operatic selections by Glimmerglass Music Director David Angus and members of the Young Artists Program. All seats are $10.

ShowTalk, a special symposium series, takes place over three weekends in August. Visiting scholars and artists explore topics related to the Festival productions. Each installment is priced at $10 and $5 for youths.
