A group of award-winning film and TV stars including Emmy award winner Alec Baldwin will serve on a new National Advisory Board (NAB) supporting Western New York theater company Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP).

The region's premier theatre company for the development and production of cutting-edge original plays by local playwrights, RLTP proudly revealed the formation of the National Advisory Board at their Spring Gala in May.

Artistic Director Scott Behrendmade the announcement with inaugural member James Rebhorn, star of such films as "Independence Day," "The Game," and "The Talented Mr. Ripley." Rebhorn was intown to support RLTP as its 2009 American Theatre Master.

"We are grateful to the talented and distinguished artists who through their participation on our National Advisory Board will help us further the development of local talent as well as help promote their work beyond our stage and into other markets," said Behrend. "Having their collective professional experience as a resource is invaluable as RLTP continues to grow in our own region and beyond."

In addition to Baldwin and Rebhorn, members of RLTP's National Advisory Boardinclude Pulitzer-nominated playwright and actor Eric Bogosian ("Talk Radio," "Law& Order: Criminal Intent"), Tony nominated theatre and TV director Scott Ellis ("30Rock", "Weeds"), and Drama Desk Award winner and University of Buffalo faculty member Stephen McKinley Henderson ("Jitney," "King Hedley II," "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom").

"I support the RLT Theatre because they are adventurous and imaginative andtalented and thrifty," said Bogosian. "They did a production of my play, "Humpty Dumpty" last season that was as good as, if not better, than the major productions attwo major regional theaters. You can't have theater without heart. And RLT is allheart...and brains," he added.

The NAB will provide council and advice to the growing theatre company and enable networking opportunities on a national level, in the interests of promoting RLTP's work beyond the Buffalo area.
