The money raised by the "Next Steps" concert will be funding the now renamed Green Works (formerly the Emerging Artist Program and New Works). According to Annie Kloppenberg, a Green Street Studios board member, " We are continuing to develop the program, shifting its model. For more than 10 years, this program, in its various iterations, has helped nurture local artists and supported the development of new works. This spring's Green Works will give choreographers both facilitated workshop time coupled with formal feedback of work in progress. In the first workshop, any dancers who want to participate in the creative research process are invited to join for the day. While some choreographers may already have dancers selected, some may still be looking to add to their casts, so this creates an opportunity for dancers to connect with choreographers in a research-based setting versus through an audition, while it provides choreographers with a group of dancers to expand and explore ideas before the pressures of setting a product.

The rehearsal period has been extended so that choreographers have more opportunity to deepen their work while in residence at Green Street Studios. We are excited about the new developments and are pleased to welcome applications to the program. All dancers involved will also receive discounted Moving Target classes throughout the program. This season, Moving Target will include an illustrious list of nationally- and internationally-recognized artists including former Cunningham dancer and Bessie Award winner, Silas Ranier, Harvard alumna and Bessie award winner Liz Santoro, and company members of Galim, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, and Kate Weare in conjunction with their seasons at the ICA and many more. As one of Green Street's signature programs, "Green Works" both builds on the organization's rich history and the ethos of its founding and turns an eye toward the future by supporting rigorous choreographic inquiry in the development of new works."
