Cape Rep's 2016 season concludes with 5-time Tony Winner Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, with music by Wayne Barker. This raucous, creative comedy with music is theatrical storytelling at its best, a prequel to Peter Pan for grown ups (okay, for children too) that explains how an orphan boy becomes Peter Pan and how an egomaniacal pirate fop becomes one of theater's most delightful villains! Filled with shtick, mermaids, a love story and maybe even a guy in a dress.

Associate Artistic Director Maura Hanlon directs with musical direction by Cristina Dinella, set design by Trevor Norton, lighting design by Herrick Goldman, costumes by Holly Erin McCarthy and props by Melissa Becker and Susan Wasson. TJ Glenn is the fight choreographer and Kate Gulden stage manages.

This comedically talented cast is filled with many familiar Cape Rep faces, including Jared Hagan, Sam Gillam, Andrew Ford, Ari Lew, Jade Schuyler, Garrett Almeida, Jessica Georges, Jimmy Sawyer, Holly Hansen, Paul Schuyler and Art Devine, joined by newcomer Marcus Hunter.

Cape Rep's 2016 season opened with My Name is Asher Lev by Aaron Posner,

adapted from the novel by Chaim Potok May 5 through June 5 followed by the Tom Stoppard comedy Rough Crossing June 23 through July 23. The Tony Award winning Hairspray The Broadway Musical played from August 3 through September 3. The Woman in Black haunts the stage from September 15 through October 16 and the season closes with the Cape Cod premiere of the Tony winning hit Peter and the Starcatcher playing from November 3 through December 4. The Outdoor Theater Children's Show was A Year with Frog and Toad based on the books by Arnold Lobel which ran Tuesdays & Wednesdays, June 28 through August 31 along with Mary Wilson's popular Pitter Patter Puppets Thursdays from July 7 through August 25.
