The Canberra International Music Festival has announced its Festival program for 2023. From Friday April 28 to Sunday May 7, ten glorious days of music making will set Canberra alight in a program of 28 concerts featuring around 150 international and Australian musicians.

Over the course of three nights, Artscape patrons will be treated to the new young talent, legends and the jazz master themselves as 50th celebrations continue with one of its annual flagship projects, the Youth Jazz Festival.

Opera Australia has announced a further round of cancellations due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions that will bring the total number of performances either cancelled or postponed in 2020 to more than 570 across the country.

The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announced nominations today for its 47th Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year's best in the field of animation.

Jazz artist Bob Holz will release a new album, 'Silverthorne' featuring Mike Stern and Randy Brecker on MVD Audio. Holz got his start playing nationally with guitar great Larry Coryell. Holz and Coryell recorded two albums together. Bob previously recorded with Mike Stern and Randy Brecker on his first album, A Vision Forward in 2015.

Friends Johannes Brahms and  Robert Schumann, were both enamored with Robert's wife Clara Schumann, a virtuoso pianist and a composer.  Clara, the muse, is evident in all of Schumann's music and his Fantasiestucke expresses the passion found in the free imagination of the composer.

When the unconquerable Billy Flynn and the ensemble sing of that "old razzle dazzle," they sing of corruption and deceit - of wicked things turned into truth when presented in just the right light. Under the pretense of being decent in a world of easy exploitation and unremorseful women, Billy's smile is a falsity he doesn't care to hide - his performance as showy as the lights which illuminate the stage. Transforming the lives of the potentially dead murderesses of Chicago into a form of entertainment for the masses is manipulation at its core - it is just one of the reasons Kander and Ebb's Chicago has remained one of our favorite musicals for so long. Now, we can all be grateful for Peregrine Theatre Ensemble's current production of the longest running American musical in Broadway history, happening right in the heart of Provincetown.

CHICAGO, the #1 longest running American musical in Broadway history will be making its Outer Cape premiere when Peregrine Theatre Ensemble opens the show at Provincetown's newly renovated Fishermen Hall.

The Trout Quintet is said to evoke the splash of darting fish in the Austrian alpine stream, where Schubert was inspired to compose in the summer of 1819, drawing from his earlier adaptation of a poem.

Flinders Quartet, Melbourne's premier string quartet, makes its debut appearance at North Sydney's spectacular Independent Theatre this June 18 - with special guest cellist, Timo-Veikko Valve - in a mouth-watering program of chamber pieces for strings by Schubert, Boccherini and Sculthorpe.

Cape Rep Theatre will soon present the Cape Cod premiere of Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, with music by Wayne Barker, November 3 through December 4: Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm, with an additional 2 pm matinee on Saturday, November 26. There are no performances on November 6, 9, 23 or 24.  Tickets are $35.  Pay-What-You-Can-Night is the first Friday, November 4.
