ArtWeek Boston and ArtSpring Cape Cod have announced a unique collaboration to present a workshop on the Art of Cultural Tourism. The free workshop will take place Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 10:30AM at the Cape Cod Museum of Art.

Through a partnership with the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the workshop is designed to showcase how the artists and creative economy small business owners can fuel the local tourism industry. It will also provide tips and tricks on how to generate buzz for arts, cultural, and creative events.

"Over the past several years, ArtWeek events have expanded on Cape Cod, so we are excited that this new partnership with ArtSpring Cape Cod helps to further promote awareness for the thriving art and cultural offerings in communities across Massachusetts," said Josiah A. Spaulding, Jr., President & CEO of the Boch Center, the nonprofit cultural producer of ArtWeek in partnership with the Highland Street Foundation.

The event will include a distinguished panel presentation of Boston-based artists and small business groups, featuring Joe Donlavey, Director of Sales and Corporate Development at the Boch Center; Susan Israel, President and Founder of Climate Creatives; Suzan Redgate, Executive Director of the Copley Society of Art; and Donna Lee Robertson, Marketing Manager at Restoration Resources. The discussion will be moderated by Lisa Simmons, Program Manager at the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

"As we gear up for the official launch of ArtSpring Cape Cod, we are delighted to have support from and be partnering with ArtWeek Boston," said David Kaplan, Executive Director of the Cape Cod Museum of Art. "Both festivals celebrate and elevate arts and culture, and we hope this event is only the beginning of a budding partnership that builds new awareness about the Cape and Islands' thriving cultural community."

Following the Art of Cultural Tourism workshop, attendees can continue to get creative at special exhibit openings for "Crossing the Line: Innovators of the White-Line Print" and "Celebrating 35th-Anniversary Gifts - A Selection of New Acquisitions" at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, or attend the Ghostlight Project at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
