That sounds so cool! I have never been able to go because they were so late, so now I'm glad they have earlier shows. Can't wait to see some of these people perform.

No Asmeret Gabermicheal? (or however you spell her name.) Who's going to sing the Don't Quit song?

Sounds like quite an impressive line-up and the guest stars are definitely Broadway's best. I'll definitely be there in the summer. How's the view from the regular seats? Can anyone elaborate on the 2 drink/food minimum included with the ticket?

Do they announce who the celebrity guests at each show are going to be before hand or do you not find out till you get there?

I think they'll probably still have Asmeret & Derrick sing the song, though when I went to the special Sunday night show, Dan Fogler, Lisa Jolley & Jason Kravits ROCKED it!!!

soooooooo psyched for this.

I still don't know how I feel about this being a multiple performances a week thing uptown. Plus, it got way more expensive when it moved uptown from Joe's Pub prices. It doesn't seem quite the same to me.

Oh well, if it provides a chance to see great actors do different things, then it's not so bad.

Actors do like to get paid for working, you know. That money has to come from somewhere.

I was at the first preview last night and what a fantastic show. Coming from someone who has been to almost every one at Joe's Pub, this was one of my favorites.

To answer some questions...
Last night Donna Vivino sang the theme song. I imagine it'll just be one of the rotating cast members each time

I didnt seem to see any difference between seating. The theatre is set up with small tables throught the room, so there really is no big difference. Maybe they save some of the front row center table for the higher price, but you'll definately be cool with the lower priced tickets

They do inforce the 2 drink minimum

They dont plan on announcing the core cast/guest stars weekly because its very subject to change. However, I imagine some info will leak onto the Broadway sites like it did for the first few shows. And when they have a really popular guest star (eg Kristen Chenoweth) I imagine it will be announced.

So everyone, go check it out! It's such a fun experience with lots of audience involvement. Broadway Box has a discount for $25 tickets so take advantage of that http://broadwaybox.com/shows/dont_quit_your_night_job_nyc_tickets.aspx

I had a great time at the show last night!

Considering it was the first preview, I thought it ran very smoothly and was one of the better DQ shows that I have seen.

Kelli Ohara's mashup (no more calling it madlibs for copyright reasons?) of There once was a woman (or man? I don't know) from Pajama Game was hysterical.

NY2's reviews of the upcoming musicals (yay!) and play (eh) were really good. It's fun that now there is a set with a ton of props they all can grab to use in the show.

Will Chase's special skill as a drummer was awesome- he played hard rock, soft rock, jazz, country, hip hop style- whatever was called out.

Alan Tudyk trying to figure out who he was in an interview (as Oprah Winfrey in The King and I), a new game with audience members trying to guess impersonators, the overactor's symphony, Foreign Film (Two Romances- from France), everything was a lot of fun.

The core actors (Will Chase, Sandy Rustin, Donna Vivino and Greg Reuter), along with the special guests, and usual crew- Sarah Saltzberg, David Rossmer, Steve Rosen, and Dan Lipton- were highly entertaining, and I look forward to seeing DQYNJ as often as I can.

It was about an hour, a little longer.

I forgot about the opening number! About an Jewish Irish family. I wonder if the opening number will change every night, week, etc?

Guess I will find out!

Tonight's show was absolutely hysterical!

John Tartaglia, Marc Summers, Lisa Jolley, Stacie Morgan Lewis, Eric B Anthony, and Jeff Hiller, along with the regular crew, did a fantastic job. NY2's Petting Zoo Adventures had me in tears.

A new opening skit tonight showcasing 80s musicals was great, Snow White's Eulogy, Be Our Guest madlibs, Foreign Film from Turkey, replay with the Starbucks carwash done as a horror scene, film noir, and soap opera, the list goes on and on.

These performers every night have been incredible, it's really a fantastic show that everyone should check out!

I went to tonight's show and I think it was one of my favorites ever! I was laughing so hard at the musicals they came up with (Petting Zoo Adventure and Bootylicious Cowboy) I didn't think I was going to be able to breathe! I think I may have started crying from laughing so hard!

Stacie Morgain Lewis...SO FREAKING FUNNY!!!!! As is Jeff Hiller and his protrayal of Cinderella and the car wash guy at the jiffy starbucks carwash!

If you haven't gone to see Don't Quit, I HIGHLY recommend it! I am in the middle of finals but I decided to take a break and go see the show tonight and I had SUCH a good time! It was one of my favorites I've been to!!

Wow!

And, is this the official list? I've heard slight variations.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

The guests are always subject to change last minute, but its still great to have a list. Tonight should be loads of fun. Jesse was hysterical doing "Backstage Anecdotes" the last time he did the show at Joe's Pub. And I've seen all the core members for tonight and they are some of my favorites!

I went to last night's show and it was awesome!

I really enjoyed seeing all the Spelling Bee people (Sarah, Deb, Todd, and Jesse), and Jesse and Heather Goldenhersh did a "I'm a NY actor now living in LA" obstacle course relay race. They have to find their keys in a slab of tofu, deal with a crazy fan, ride a big wheel across the stage, do a u-turn, go through a food basket to throw out all the carbs, go pose for a photographer, and answer a strange question for a reporter.

Donna Vivino's madlibs rendition of Castle on a Cloud (she was the original young Cosette in Les Miz) was quite dirty, therefore very entertaining.

NY2 highlights included "Who Stole My Ipod?" "Collins Greenley does NY" and something about Evil Penguins on Cinco de Mayo.

The replay scene, taking place in a pizzeria, was redone in hip hop mode, bollywood, and kabooki (sp?).

Oh! they also did Broadway Blues, which I hadn't seen in a long time- their topics were cell phones, snoring, and high ticket prices. Deb S Craig- I love you but could barely understand a word you said. But your singing was fab :)

I know I am missing stuff, but it was just a really great show, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again. It's so fun that it changes every night, so even if you have gone before, you can go repeatedly and see new games and improv every night.

Congrats DQ on a successful move to midtown!

These shows sound incredible!

Two of my friends went last night and had a blast. It was a perfect end to their evening: catching a film at Tribeca, dinner, and then DQYNJ. They really loved it and want to go again. Rave reviews from both!

You lucky New Yorkers! If someone wants to adopt a poor church mouse from Buffalo and let me come frolick in NYC--please do! "Don't Quit Your Night Job" would be definitely on my list.
:o)
