I am starting this thread to plead early with the Dear Evan Hansen team, if anyone is reading this, to perform "You Will Be Found" at the Tonys. I feel like they might hesitate because it slightly 'spoils' the plot, and would lean towards "Waving Through a Window." But I think the net benefit of YWBF could be genuinely uplifting for viewers, so many of whom are extra depressed with the world right now. It still showcases Ben Platt, has a potentially cathartic message to almost everyone watching, and the energy and vocal arranging (and use of digital set) are just thrilling. I think that performance would absolutely bring the house down.

We obviously aren't close to nominations, and many of the shows have yet to open, but what are some of your other hopes?

I'm curious as to what Great Comet might do should they decide to perform (also assuming they gather some nominations as discussed in the other forum). It's obvious RC won't reconfigure the space as they did for the Imperial, so the main question is what if any numbers could they do that can showcase more than just Josh without losing the effects of seeing it with the interaction? The finale is all that can come to my mind.

They could, and they likely will.

I highly doubt this. Yes, I'd love for them to perform, but they won't. They aren't eligible for any awards and there really is no reason since this is a limited run and there won't be a future after it. They have to pay to perform, which they won't. The only way I could see them performing would be for the In Memoriam, which I also doubt.

They will have him in the telecast for sure, they always take as many names as they can to draw in viewers. I doubt they will pass the opportunity to show the world he can sing too.
If anything, either for viewers or for his own publicity, I bet we will see something of the show; if not a live number.

I highly doubt they perform. Why would they? I could see them asking him to present, however.....and who knows if his schedule would even allow for that.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I feel like DEH has been promoting 'Waving' because it showcases Ben's talent. While I love 'You Will Be Found' i think they'll want to highlight Ben.
I doubt Jake and Annaleigh will perform. With how many new shows will be opening it'd make more sense to promote shows that would benefit from a performance.
I would love for Once Upon A December to be performed at Radio City Music Hall, seguing into Journey to the Past. I bet the Anastasia producers would probably want to feature one of the newer numbers, though.
Here are some of my early choices: Anastasia-Journey to the Past A Bronx Tale-Belmont Avenue Cats-Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats/Memory Dear Evan Hansen-Waving Through a Window Falsettos (if it performs)-Welcome to Falsettoland Hello, Dolly!-Hello, Dolly! Miss Saigon-The Heat is On/The Last Night of the World
If DEH gets a ton of acting noms, I feel like they'd want showcase The whole cast, so you will be found might be a good option

While I don't think Falsettos will perform, we'll probably see Borle perform on the telecast with "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory". Any guess on what they will perform? Probably "Pure Imagination" or an Oompa-Loompa song.
But that does raise a question: has a lead performer ever performed twice on the same telecast for two different shows? (As would be the case if Falsettos and Charlie performed for Borle)

If they get nominated for Best Revival (which I suspect they will) and get acting noms (which I suspect they will), I can't see why they wouldn't perform unless there's a massive scheduling issue for one of the actors. It's a small enough cast that I think it should be easy enough to get a performance together. I'm hoping they do!
I also doubt that Sunday in the Park will perform, though I can definitely see Jake and/or Annaleigh as presenters.
It makes the most sense for Great Comet to perform the Prologue. It doesn't showcase Josh as much, but I get the sense the producers want to see the show on its own merits, and the Prologue is the best way to do that.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I definitely agree that it showcases the cast and overall show, what puzzles me is how they will stage it. In a way it almost as in the round staging so I'm curious as to what changes they will make for it for a proscenium staging
But that wasn't really lead... I know one person did it as well a number of years prior, but I can't remember who to tell you if both were leads or not.
Fun Home managed to re-stage Ring of Keys just fine, and that was fully in the round. Rachel Chavkin is smart- she'll figure it out.

Great Comet is a tough one! I feel like they might do Prologue/Pierre or Prologue/Dust and Ashes for Mr Groban, but as he is leaving afterwards it makes sense for them to focus on someone else. I really do hope they show off the other actors who get nommed (assuming they do). I'd love for Lucas's 'Petersburg' note to be recorded on video!
