What is with these people??? I mean how did they not have this up already? If anything they should've had it up Dec 31 as the Illusionists closed that day. With all the Times Sq coverage that would've been great advertising
Yes, chernjam, I'm not sure if a New Year's marquee change would've been logistically feasible—but it's now two weeks since New Year's. I can't wrap my head around why they would forsake any precious moment with foot traffic advertising.
Thanks for the responses, and I agree with the user that says that that space should have been used for advertisement. Silly producers!!!

Still not up...it shows some show that already closed. Are these producers crazy?!

broadwayguy91 - I didn't hear any of the producers saying they were trying to beat Hello Dolly... I for one couldn't care less about Hello Dolly, and can't wait to see Sunset a week from today. So perhaps it's just different strokes for different folks and you can just leave it at that?
I am so beyond excited for this. I never in my life expected to be able to see Glenn Close in one of my favorite musicals 20 years after she did it orginally. I absolutely love the set and the fact that it looks like a soundstage!!
Walked by again today, and they STILL have The Illusionists sign up!! At this point, part of me feels like they may not utilize this sign and just wait for another show to buy out the space.

Probably going up today-Monday...Walk by

Sunday in the Park with George
There's no way ALW is walking in that theatre on Opening Night with "The Illusionists" marquee above it... especially when this is a historic moment for him - 4 shows on Broadway
BUT ALW has been going to the theatre for rehearsals, interviews, press, etc...and The Illusionist is still up there!
PS: That picture looks amazing!

True muscle - but Opening Night is a whole other beast. No way he's going to have his friends and relatives, producers, celebrities walk into a theatre without the proper marquee. I'm wondering if there was some mistake or something with it... Just way too weird for it to be taking this long, especially since the rest of the front was already done

It's really not that strange. Im fairly certain that that space is not owned by the theatre, nor does the show have any requirement to advertise there.
