Goodspeed’s Song Coaching Workshop is a unique professional development opportunity for anyone who coaches musical theatre artists on the academic, amateur, or professional level. Professor Brent Wagner, Emeritus Chair of the University of Michigan Musical Theatre Department, will lead this workshop designed to help educators and artists improve their ability to coach actors at any level on the dramatic interpretation of a musical theatre song. Under Professor Wagner’s guidance, participants will coach singers individually, receiving feedback along with tools for analyzing the specific combination of music and lyrics to interpret the writers’ intent. Performance goals include physicality, musicianship, and acting skills, all of which are applicable to both coaching auditions and directing stage productions. Participants in the Song Coaching Workshop will also be offered a half-price ticket to Goodspeed’s production of Chasing Rainbows for the 8:00pm show on October 22. Housing is available for an additional fee on the Goodspeed campus within walking distance of the program and rides to Goodspeed can be arranged from the airport or train station. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to improve your ability as a musical theater song coach!

Hi, I'm looking for Brent Wagner Speaker Series with Stephen Schwartz and Jeanine Tesori. Is there any chance I could download the workshop materials (lectures and/or videos) for our school project? What is the schedule for the upcoming workshops? Thanks.
