Great cast! Did the entire company from Papermill transfer?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
From the looks of it, most of the Paper Mill cast did. The only two main changes are Jason Gotay and Coco Jones are out as Calogero and Jane. But I think it's predominately most of the same cast. I'm super super excited for this show!!!
Sorry for my ignorance but I have no idea how this stuff works! What's the deal with Nick leaving Waitress? Would it have been written into his contract that he's able to leave or has he come to the end of his contract?
I knew I heard Bobby Conte Thornton's name before- he's playing Freddy in Michael Arden's My Fair Lady at Sag Harbor right now. I haven't seen it, but every review I read raved about him specifically - that his performance 'literally stopped the show' (src) and that he might have the greatest voice in the company (src), etc. Sounds promising!
Also on a silly note, this photo of him um fascinates me.. is that his.. leg.. (scroll down)?
I'd love to see them bring back Joe Tippett who played the part in Cambridge (at the ART) before it went to Broadway. He was actually better in the role. I found Cordero's Nick to be completely unredeemable - why did Jenna ever fall in love with him? Tippett's had a sort of dark charm underneath that made you see how she could have fallen for him in the first place.
