Hi all. First time poster/long time lurker.

So I'm fortunate in that I was able to get Hamilton tickets for this Friday's (5/27) show via StubHub. Orchestra Row L, seats pretty much on the very side.

Now it seems crazy to say that I got a good "deal" on these seats, but I purchased them at $800 each. Now that is an incredible markup in general, but compared to what most seats in the orchestra go at, these seem like a pretty good deal to me.

But I'll be honest that it got my suspicions raised, but that could just be my paranoia in general. I've used StubHub many, many times before with no problem at all, but I know the Hamilton craze is a different beast with some people getting scammed on StubHub which is a normally reputable reseller. I'm more fortunate than most in that I live in NYC and can see the show another time if my tickets turn out to be fraudulent, but just wanted to poll the community here to see if you'd be slightly wary as well?

Thanks all! Love the community here.

I would've bought them on Ticketmaster rather than StubHub, because yes, multiple people have posted here and elsewhere that their StubHub tickets turn out to do be false/fakes/duplicates aka when they show up and give their tickets to be scanned, they aren't allowed to enter. Ticketmaster doesn't have that possibility.

That said, you already bought them, so not sure what you can do about it now other than hope for the best.

Totally. I definitely know the risk even with a site like StubHub. I think we'll just go into it with the attitude that an opportunity to see it in the future is possible and at least StubHub will refund us the money. I really feel for the people that travel longways to see the show only to find out their tickets aren't real.

Personal opinion, I would buy other tickets on StubHub, but I would not buy Hamilton tickets on StubHub.

There are a lot of people on this board who have bought Hamilton tickets from SH and had no problems.

Let us know what happens on Friday! And, if they are fake, please don't (allegedly) act like this:

Hahahahahaha. Well I'm assuming that if I shouted at the ticket taker "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" he'd hopefully respond with "Yeah, you're the guy not seeing Hamilton tonight."

I hope your tickets are real! But just in case, be sure to keep Stub Hub's number handy in case they are fake. They will issue a refund if you cannot get in.

Yep, I picked them up from their Last Minute Ticket location in Times Square. They gave me a card to call them in case there were problems.

Are they partial view? That may be the reason for them being lower.

I got partial view off of StubHub (row D seat 17) for what seemed to be an absolute steal ($325). This was in January, but it was much lower than the majority of seats even then. I figured they were lower just b/c they had partial view printed on them. (The view was actually great!)

I hope your tickets work out. Try to get to the theatre as early as possible, so that if the barcode has been duplicated, you'll be scanned in first. I don't know for sure if that's actually how they duplicate things, but that was the advice given to me when I was worrying about problems with my StubHub purchase.

The story is not true. The only true thing is that they got fake tickets.

I mean, obviously there is some risk, but I bought three tickets for last October that were listed barely above face value (and row R center, too!) I sweated it, but I must have found the only people in New York who were just trying to recoup their costs. Hamilton StubHub tix - reason to be wary? I hope you are similarly lucky.

Can you share the seat numbers? My husband and I are also seeing the show this Friday and our tickets are also edge of row L. I don't know the seat numbers but I believe we are on the right side facing the stage. I hope yours aren't for the same seats!

I was curious about something and wondered if anyone knew what would happen... if you sold tickets to something on SH what if the buyer then sold them (not by listing them) then after knowing that the second buyer has entered, attempts to enter and then says that they were scammed? SH would have no way to know that the buyer was the scam artist and would likely penalize the seller who also has no proof, right? SH really needs to get more security measures. Even with the Sacca situation, they claim "seller error" how can tickets for the right day and time be anything other than fakes? Where's the error? I wish all the people who got scammed file a lawsuit bc they are totally aware that this event has a high rate of fraud but do nothing to address it.

I bought my ticket to Hamilton on Stub Hub (without knowing the risk - I thought they were a safe site) and had no problem. I followed the advice of some others on here - waited all day till nearly show time and watched the price drop. When I saw that the other tickets in the row (there were 4 in row J center) were being bought, I took a chance and hit the button. Boy am I glad I did. When I got to the theater I asked the people next to me about it, and they did the same as me.

just wanted to share a positive experience.

You were lucky. Sadly, those days seem to be over. Now they seem to mostly sell out earlier in the day and some tickets sit there until the end without the price dropping.

Just registered to say that I am also attending this Friday 5/27, and I also purchased StubHub tickets in the same price range (plus fees). My seats are in the side Orchestra, Row N.  I'm flying in for the show and won't have another chance if this doesn't work out. I want to be near the front of the line to get my tickets scanned in case things go badly - can anyone give advice on the best time to start lining up? When do tickets actually start getting scanned?

Hoping we all get in to the show without issues!

I have purchased Hamilton tickets twice from Ticketmaster, the first for May (no problems) and the next set for June (just had to see it a second time in NYC). I saw both times that the tickets remained on sale after the purchase. The June tickets are available, at a higher price than we paid. If someone else goes on and tries to purchase the June tickets, will I be notified that I need to release the tickets in order for the party to purchase them?  We are traveling quite a distance.

Wait- are you saying that the exact same tickets that you already bought are now listed (not by you) and at a higher price? If so, call SH now!!!

I hope I don't have problems with my ticket either.  I bought a ticket off another site with a guarantee.  The same exact ticket was on ticketmaster resale.  I got a little bit of a discount (lower service fees), however, and so I bought it there.  I was relieved when the ticket disappeared from the ticketmaster inventory right away, and now I am hoping for the best when the ticket is scanned!  Anyone else had similar experience?

Yes, the same exact tickets that I purchased on Saturday through Ticketmaster are listed tonight on Ticketmaster. I received the June tickets from Ticketmaster via email and they look legit.

Sorry, gap due to sleep and work. I just checked and I don't see the tickets on the resale list anymore. This is good news! I am going  to keep an eye on it.

Last Saturday (5/21) I noticed on the StubHub app that prices dropped to $150 just a few minutes before the 2:00 matinee.  Did anyone here try to go for those tickets?  I'm just curious if they were legit.
