Anastasia (Ingrid Bergman) on TCM 5/15 (tonight)

If you're interested, TCM is showing the 1956 Cinemascope "Anastasia" tonight (6pm EST). Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar for her riveting performance. Arthur Laurents wrote the screenplay. While it doesn't include any happy little bats or puppies, it is an entertaining "biopic". Helen Hayes plays the Dowager Empress and the costumes and scenery are appropriately opulent. If you don't know the "Anastasia" story, this movie will fill in most of the blanks.

Some days TCM sucks hard like with Dean and Sinatra films.

One of my favorite movies -- Ingrid Bergman, Yul Brynner, Helen Hayes! You can't beat that cast. Also, I do recall the haunting movie theme song.

It was released earlier this year on a great Blu-ray from Twilight Time. They do runs of 3,000 units at around $30 if you buy from them. Prices are usually far higher on Amazon through third-party sellers.
