I was really surprised when I rushed Beautiful yesterday at TKTS. Paid 91 dollars and got 8th row DEAD CENTER, which I assumed to be normally sold as a premium seat. Can we all share our TKTS last minute ticket purchasing experiences so we can know which shows send awesome seats to TKTS right before the curtain?
I saw Next to Normal with a last minute tkts ticket, maybe an hour before curtain on the last week of the run, fourth row dead center. Amazing seat for my first time seeing the show.
I wrote this once before. I recently went to TKTS about 45 minutes prior to curtain for Curious Incident. I asked for a single and the person in the booth offered me a rear orchestra way over to the side. I declined. I waited a bit and went back to the same Play Only window (not much of a line) and asked for the same show, single ticket. She offered me 8th row Orchestra, 4th seat over left. I took it. Don't know why a few minutes later with the same seller would offer two different locations. Luck of the draw, I guess.
Not really....the box office sends new tickets over at different times of the day.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
If you are going to theater alone....this is the best way to get house seats at a bargain. Don't wait on line....if you can, wait until it is close to curtain. I have also had great luck at the booth on John St.near the South St. Seaport.
