Isherwood is an idiot.

Surprised they put Color Purple in there before the reviews are out!

He didn't even put Hamilton in his top 10

Not everyone has to like Hamilton, people...

Hamilton is one of the best shows ever written. The fact that he did not include it in his top 10 list for this YEAR is a travesty.

No it's really not a travesty. And there are hundreds of shows better written than Hamilton. Hamilton (while good) is certainly not the best show ever written. That statement is actually pretty laughable.

I love Hamilton as much as the next guy but dang bro...

Ps. I see you just joined today to post this? lulz Hi Pinto.

Aaron Burr, Sir, let me offer you some free advice. Talk Less. Smile More. Dont crap on Isherwood, hes just unsure. Isherwood is a mystery. Oh well. While Hamilton is amazing and all, it's not everyone's cup of tea and crumpets. And there were some great other shows, so it could just be Isherwood's tastes.

I appoligise for any spelling mistakes. I may be on my mobile. Clumsy fingers and small little touchscreen keys don't mixx. I try to spellcheck, but I may miss something.

They were probably trying to discuss different shows or maybe the shows that they reviewed

I think they were trying to discuss different shows. Not one show is repeated throughout. I'm sure they both thought Fun Home, Hamilton and The Humans were all in this year's top 10 shows. No need to bash Isherwood for this.

It is better to list shows for which one could buy a ticket.

When Hamilton22, King George icon and all, tells you that "Hamilton" wasn't the best show ever written, you know something is up. And Terrence, for the love of God, stop putting words into peoples mouths. Jesus, the boards on here make me want to never listen to the cast album of "Hamilton" again.

Isherwood explains himself in the article:

"(And if you need further proof that this was a year requiring hard choices, note the absence of “Hamilton” from my selection; that fine show has been hosanna-ed so thoroughly that it hardly needs more recognition, at least until the inevitable Pulitzer and Tony Awards add to its luster.)"

True, but letting that interfere with the standard zeitgeist around here wherein cows that have not been canonized are launched into the ether to be shot down while still earthbound...

I'm very happy "Eclipsed" made its way onto the list - and can't wait for Brantley's review next year. The best play I have ever seen - period.

We get it, Hogan's Hero. Hamilton is your savior. It's your only reason to live. Get off it already.

Fun Home wasn't on either of their lists this year. I would have to check, but I assume it appeared on last year's list during its off-Broadway incarnation.

As Brantley mentions in the article, Fun Home was on his list in 2013 for the Public Theater production.

Isherwood is not a fan of Fun Home so I'm not surprised it didn't make his list this year or for 2013.

I'm so happy Spring Awakening is included. Just because it isn't a financial hit doesn't take away from the fact that it is a treasure. I'm very sad that it is leaving next month (the cast have confirmed there is no chance of an extension)..

The Strictly Limited Engagement signs. their social media literally counting down the number of shows left every day, and another show coming in after them didn't tip you off earlier?
