The new production of Carrie the Musical has opened in London and so far reviews are very good, far better than off Broadway. Looks like it could have a life here.

We've already got a chat on this over on the West End Board. Join us!

These reviews aren't anything like the raves the recent L.A. production got (which I did get to see, and it was REALLY something else - though on a much grander scale than Southwark) but its really lovely to see the old girl averaging a 3 out of 5 star consensus for her return to the UK. Not surprisingly it looks like Evelyn Hoskins and especially Kim Criswell are walking away with the reviews.

The Southwark always does good interesting work. Anyone coming to see us in London should make whatever is playing at the space a must visit. Definitely the best in Fringe. And only 18 quid a ticket.

Other than Lyn Gardner in The Guardian I would say these reviews are pretty good.

The Financial Times alas isn't so keen (2/5 stars) though praises Evelyn Hoskins.
