Carrie Snodgress and Sondra Locke: two actresses Oscar nominated early in their careers and then scorned by Hollywood.

Carrie Snodgress was the 70s Debra Winger. Oscar nommed for Diary of A Mad Housewife. Rumored to have been cast as the girlfriend in Rocky but couldn't come to salary agreement. Stepped out of the spotlight for awhile to have a relationship with Neil Young and never could get her career revived.

Sondra Locke was Oscar nommed for her very first movie The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Much like Sally Field, Sondra got involved with a domineering Hollywood actor. Unlike Sally, Sondra couldn't seem to pull out of the rubble when the relationship soured.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Locke was involved with Clint Eastwood. After they broke up, her career went south real quick. No idea if he had a hand in it or if it was just bad luck on her part.

I think at one point Sondra Locke sued Clint Eastwood for blocking her career. I believe she may have won a settlement because she proved that he had spoken to some Hollywood people to not cast her in anything.

If you refuse to take roles over $$$ and then stop acting because of a relationship, where is the part where "Hollywood" scorned you?!

Same for Locke, what great films did she do in the eight intervening years between her first film and dating Clint? From 72-75, it looks like she was mainly doing guest spots on TV shows and TV movies, so it looks an equal case could be made that Clint saved her career by casting her in nearly every movie he made, no?

Eastwood settled with her while the jury was deliberating. When they broke up after 13 years, he offered her an arranged deal with Warner Brothers in exchange for her dropping a palimony suit. She stated every deal she brought to WB was turned down. She stated the deal was a sham. That was what the lawsuit was about.
