So Verizon is giving away the iPhone 6 ( Not the plus) for free with a 2 year contract and a phone trade-in. My contract with them is up. I was going to wait a little bit.. but is there a reason for me not to do this? And anyone who has one of this e big mega-size phones..... Are they hard to carry around?

I would say to check the fine print for rate increases. The bigger the screen the more pixels the more pixels the more data used. Always be careful of to good to be true offers.

That is good advice. I don't think I am going to go for the big one. It needs to fit in my pocket. The battery on my current 4S wears down easily. This is why I think I might go for the new one. I am supposively married into unlimited data since I have been with Verizon since they were called Airtouch.

I can't really figure out what the differences are with the 6 and the 6 plus besides the size and maybe the camera. Is that pretty much all there is?

There is a difference in camera?

So many people I know are giving up the iPhone altogether.

Oh, im tempted as well. But I'm just not familiar with any of the alternatives and I do need to replace my older iphone that's just not working like it should anymore.

I'll probably end up doing it. So far for the fee phone you have to go thru Verizon. But I am betting other company's will match or give other incentives.

"The bigger the screen the more pixels"

Unfortunately, this is not always the case, although ideally it should be. The more pixels, the more detail -- but that is independent from how how large the screen on which those pixels are displayed. Screen resolution (ie, the number of pixels displayed) is not the same as screen size (ie, the number of inches by inches of the screen).

They are already giving it away for FREE with contract?! That seems odd. I hope someone here does that.

There's something odd about this. I have a feeling they may try to use this to force people off of the unlimited data plans when you sign the new contract (which Verizon has done in the past). Either that or the trade in of your phone will be given a value "up to" $200. I find it hard to believe that if I walked in to Verizon with an iPhone 4, or even a 3GS (which I do actually still have in a drawer) they would give me a $200 credit for taking either of those off my hands and signing a new contract.

Another thing I'm confused about now is that I was thinking of getting the 5s now that the prices are so reduced, but I can't find new pricing for the 64gb model. Everything that talks about it only says how the 16 & 32gb models are reduced and the iPhone website doesn't even list the 64 model anymore.

I'm confused.

I am not aware of any new or discounted price for the 64gb model.

Jordan, as I recall they have often discontinued the higher capacity models of the previous iteration once the newest version is released. After next Friday you may start seeing discounts on the 64g models as retailers try to sell off their remaining stock, but my guess is that once that stock is sold you won't see any new 64g 5S models outside of eBay, Craigslist, or other secondary resellers.
