Where did you receive that notice Michelle would be on vacation? I have tickets for this Friday and would be seriously dissapointed to miss her in the show.
**Edited** Nevermind, I just spoke with Roundabout and they confirmed her vacation. I am really upset. One of the big draws for me to see Cabaret was to see Michelle in the role.

I have tickets for Saturday and I didn't get any sort of notification, either. It is on the website now, though. I've seen her twice already, but still a little bummed. Oh well--looking forward to seeing Andrea!
I might add that while I understand that the actors need and are entitled to vacations, I think maybe these should be decided at the beginning of the run of the show. Especially for the above the marquee players. That way it is easier for those buying tickets and planning trips to decide when to go and be sure they'll get to see the actor they wanted to see, granted the actor doesn't get ill and cannot go on.
C'ste la vie. Looking forward to Alan and company put on a fantastic show.
They do that with some shows, actually. But, July and August are when a lot of actors take their vacations, so if you can see a show before or after that, you should be in good shape.
I'd imagine that vacation was added when she decided to extend her run in the show and, otherwise, her vacation would have just fallen after her last performance.
They emailed me today ( Monday) They should plan and inform patrons in advance so is it worth seeing without her or see a different show?
COPY OF EMAILThis is a courtesy email from the Roundabout Theatre Company Audience Services Department.
We are contacting you to inform you that Michelle Williams is on vacation and will not be performing in the Saturday, August 09, 2014 at 8:00 PM performance of Cabaret. Her vacation is from August 5th through August 10th.
If you wish to exchange your seats for a different date, please contact Audience Services at 212.719.1300.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Are they offering refunds? You say you might just see another show, but it only says you can exchange for another date, not get a refund in that e-mail.
I have tickets to see the show on Thursday. Would it be possible to reschedule? I got a table with 4 friends back in January. I bought the tix at the box office so that's probably why I didn't get any notification.
I just saw this on 7/25, and nothing against Michelle, she was fine -- but I truly do not think you'll notice her absence all that much, unless you are a huge Michelle Williams fan. I don't mean that to sound bad or reflect poorly on her, because like I said, she was fine and I liked her performance. But to/for me, the show was made by Alan. I'd be a heckuva lot more upset if he was going on vacation when I had tickets.
Just curious... Has anyone else with tickets for this week not received an email from Roundabout about Michelle's vacation? I've had tickets to the Saturday night show for months and haven't heard anything from them. I'm a Hiptix Gold member, bought my tickets through the website, and they show up in my account on their site with the correct date and time....
I'm not exchanging. I've seen Michelle twice, and Alan (and the show itself) is the real draw for me anyway. But if I WAS going to see Michelle and I WOULD exchange knowing she was out and I DIDN'T happen to already know she's on vacation, I'd be a little annoyed that I wasn't informed. Since I didn't get an email, I'm sure there are others who do fit that description and also haven't been notified. Mostly just trying to see if there's any pattern as to why many ticket holders have gotten emails and others didn't. Are those who said they have received notification Roundabout subscribers, perhaps?
I'm a subscriber and I received no such email. I just joined this past January though, perhaps the members that have been subscribers forever and give them lots of extra cash are privy to these things.
I didn't get any email either. I bought my tix back in December 2013 for tonight's show (got a table at $162 each). The only email I got was two days ago: Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome! On Thursday, August 07, 2014 at 8:00 PM, you will be attending a performance of Cabaret at Studio 54. Transformed into the Kit Kat Klub, the doors will open one hour prior to curtain with cocktails and small plates available for purchase before the show.
I thought about exchanging these tix but I already saw Michele Williams back three months ago and am excited to see the understudy. Just like you, I came to see the show. My friends and I all volunteer ushered back in 2001 and 2002 when we were college students. I saw the show 5 times for free doing that... so we're quite excited to be finally sitting down in orchestra in our own table! :)
