James Garner was a frequent co-star of Julie Andrews and they made three films together: THE AMERICANIZATION OF EMILY, VICTOR/VICTORIA, and ONE SPECIAL NIGHT. My favorite is "Victor/Victoria" but both Garner and Andrews have gone on record that Chaefsky's "Emily" was their favorite film of their respective careers. The sentimental sap in me loves THE NOTEBOOK, but I've always liked THE CHILDREN'S HOUR, too. He was always a welcome presence in movies.
The Rockford Files was my first contact with him. Such a great actor, such a down to earth person. The theme music still takes me back to the 70s. Link
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
