I'm not sure if PalJoey is yanking our chains or not, but my completely untrained ear thought it sounded legit. I agree with matttaylorr021 that it sounded exactly like her. It sounds the way I expect Meryl will sound in Into the Woods. I like her fine, and I hope I love her in this, but I've thought from day one she was an uninspired choice. Not bad or wrong, just uninspired. She'll sing the song perfectly adequately and she'll act real hard, but... Just uninspired.
However, since the God I don't believe in answered my prayers by removing Sophia Grace from the picture - I'm still not willing to believe THAT wasn't a hoax - I'm trying to refrain from thinking anything bad about this movie. Seriously, I'm not even that attached to Into the Woods, and I rolled with every punch until Sophia Grace. I had to take to my bed when she was announced in the role of Little Red Riding Hood. I'm never one of those people who categorically will refuse to see a movie musical for some slight or miscasting, but that taught me what my dealbreaker was.
This is silly. Of course it's Meryl. Whether it's anything resembling a final track or simply a rehearsal recording, none of us know. I kind of hope it's the latter as that delivery feels a bit overly formal and stiff for my taste. Anyway, a brief, low quality preview of what might be the final track. Nothing to get worried about just yet. I think the augmented orchestration sounds lovely, btw.
I don't know- we didn't get Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pintrest, or Etsy links about this posted on BWW showing 145 photos of the woods and the sky during this scene.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
How could anyone tell if this sounds good or bad? The quality of this recording is terrible. I will reserve judgement until I have something of better quality to hear.
