So, I was watching Norb's interview on Broadway.com, and he said that a comfortable revival is "coming up" - he's a bit burnt out on building new work from the ground up, and that's all he's ever done in NY. So it got me thinking, what would be a good vehicle for him to revive.
He seems perfectly suited for They're Playing Our Song! His rendition of "Fallin'" would be gorgeous. Perfectly suited for the score and character - not to mention how great he'd be in that title number. I think the score would need a tiny bit of re-tooling, with some updated orchestrations.. Maybe even with Sherie Rene Scott? Either way, I'd love to see him take this one on. Thoughts?
Agree he'd be perfect casting for that show. As to his doing only new stuff in NY, I guess he doesn't count his playing Jigger in the 2002 one-night concert presentation of CAROUSEL at Carnegie Hall.
Nice idea. Especially re-pairing him with Sherie Rene Scott. Its not much of a show, but there are a handful of decent songs. And we're in the middle of acute Hamlisch nostalgia.
