How does the Tony Committee usually treat shows in repertory like the 2 pairs we have on Broadway now. If Mark Rylance or Ian McKellen, for example, were to be nominated this season, would they be nominated for both performances or just one? If it depends on the petitioning of the producers, do you think they will petition for them to be eligible for both?
In 1984 the Royal Shakespeare Company present Cyrano de Bergerac and Much Ado About Nothing in repertory and they were considered separate productions for the Tony Awards. I'd assume the same will happen for No Man's Land/Waiting for Godot and Twelfth Night/Richard III.
