Can anyone report just how "partial" those $42 partial view seats are?

Sat in C14 (my friend in C12) on house right on Saturday night. The view is partial for both seats, as you miss all of the fire escape. However, theres very minimal action on the fire escape, and most of the action takes place at the table which is stage left - therefore, house left has the most extreme partial view. Because of how the rows are set up, I think C is your best bet - row B was facing the proscenium wall (miserable) and rows D, E, & F (and probably more) are even more to the side then C14 is. I was totally satisfied with my seat. 4th row, close to the actors, and only missed max of 5 minutes of the show (out of 2 hours 45 minutes).

Well, you cannot see the dining room set from the house left (odd numbered) seats, though I don't know how far back you need to go to be able to see even some of it. I sat in maybe the 5th or 6th row house right, in what is the better of the two rush seats (read: not against the wall), and I couldn't see when someone was standing on the fire escape, but I thought sitting house right would be much better than sitting house left.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

VotePeron, I bought tickets to sit in B12-14, as the general consensus was to sit on that side. The other option was C11-13. How rough is it to sit in B12-14 in your opinion?

If anyone has Audience Rewards points, you can get a $60 seat with 5,000 points. Select orchestra or front mezzanine. I just ordered mine, and I'm assuming it will be a full view seat. And with Telecharge fees, the partial view seats come to $53.

I received seat Mezz E 114 from Audience Rewards. While I would have liked something closer, at least it's full view and an aisle seat.

Just bought a ticket to see it during my trip to NYC in early December. Going to try the C12 partial view seat. Don't qualify for student rush and even with the Telecharge fees, $53 is not a bad deal for a seat in the 4th or 5th row. Would rather do that even if I miss a few minutes than sit in the back of the Orchestra where I sat for Virginia Woolf. Thanks to VotePeron for the very detailed info.

I have a question about the partial view seats. I know they're available to buy online, but I went to the box office on Saturday to get the ticket in person and save on fees. According to the lady at the box office, they can only be bought online. Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone been able to buy them (in advance) at the box office? I find it hard to believe (and also weird) that they'd only be online. I'd normally take the employee's word, but she seemed a bit weird/clueless, so I wanted to check here before wasting money on Telecharge fees. Thanks for any help.

I indeed bought them at the box office to avoid fees.

The transaction was very awkward, as the partial view $42 seats are not posted for sale on the TV in the lobby. When I asked the woman, she was very taken aback, and really hesitated before answering. I just asked "Do you have any of the $42 partial view seats available for purchase here for tomorrow night?" She eventually said yes, and I got 2. But it was indeed like they are trying to hide their existence at the BO so that people will buy the more expensive seats, or wait in line to rush.

This is one production I would not encourage people to see partial-view.

Thanks for the info, VotePeron!

And I agree with you, Kad, but I already had the left side terrible side seats, so the not-as-bad right seats will even out my viewing experience at least a little, hehe. At least I'll be able to see the damn dining table!

Can anyone speak to the box seats (I believe on the right side of the house)? I bought the seats, trying to avoid partial view. They were not labeled partial view and their original price was not discounted like the other partial view seats (I got them at a discounted price using a code, however). Then, after the seats were bought and paid for, it then said these seats are partial view and we would not be able to see “one brief scene.” As I was specifically trying to avoid partial view, it was quite frustrating to find out after the tickets were bought. Will this one scene be all we will miss or will it be partial view for the entire show?

You will most likely miss every time they are on the fire escape. This is multiple times, including one long 5 minute scene.

A general rule of thumb is ALL box seats are partial view. I have never sat in a box seat and had a perfect view.

I was back pretty far all the way on the left orch., maybe four rows in from the back, and saw everything. My ticket wasn't "partial view" though.

Thanks for the info. Sad to hear about the view. I know that box seats are generally partial view, but because the other seats say “PV” after you click on them and are over half the price of the box seats, I was sure these wouldn’t be partial view (thought maybe because of how the stage was set up or something these box seats ended up not blocking any views for this show). I am going to talk to Telecharge about the fact that these were not listed as partial view until after the tickets were bought.

Is H on the extreme right better than row c ? Someone mentioned those to us & told us row H. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. The proscenium will juts out a bit in front of the closer partial view rows making row H a better seat. All the partial views on house right essentially miss the fire escape scenes, the longest being maybe a five minute scene with the gentleman caller and Tom but otherwise it's pretty minimal. Not a bad seat for the price.

Whoever put that seat in front (facing) the proscenium wall didn't really think it out

Any of you folks who sat in C12 or nearby... Could you give me your estimate of how good/bad the view might be from C10. My father wants to sit up close to see facial expressions (his vision's not great to begin with). I want to save money and don't mind missing the fire escape scenes. So... my plan was to buy C12 for me and C10 for him (assuming he'll be able to see everything). C10 is not marked partial view, so I'm hoping this is a viable plan. What say ye?

If I was going to do this over again, I'd get the partial view seats on the right. The box office person advised me to buy house left for the fire escape, which I did spend a lot of time staring at it while listening to the many dining room scenes I couldn't see.
