I sat in the left mezz when I saw the show... it was fine.
Not sure, is there a balcony above the mezz in that theater?

The kids opening twizzler candy was the only distraction I had.

I "shushed" them about 6 times before they got the message.

Ugh!

I sat up there last week. The only complaint I have is that there are either no ushers up there or they aren't good at their jobs. The girl in front of me was sitting on her flipped-up seat, talking, rattling the ice in her cup, etc, and her mother got very defensive when I asked if she could at least please sit properly.

I didn't care for the back balcony. Sound was awful!! (but the ushers were very attentive).

But you are sitting much closer than I was so hopefully it will be a lot better.

I was mid/rear balcony, and had no problems at all.

The only thing you don't see, is a few exits into the house. But you can see the entire stage.

I sat in the middle section of the balcony and thought the seats were fine and the Ushers were great. They finally told one lady who was constantly on her phone, "Turn the phone off or leave".

I guess the staff must rotate. I was pretty far back so I could see pretty much the entire balcony, and there were numerous phones on. Most of them continued well into the second act, so I assume the ushers either didn't say anything or if they did the patrons ignored them.

Not to sound rude, but wouldn't you want to ask this before you bought tickets? Or we're they a gift and you're planning on giving them away/selling them if the seats you're in are horrible?

There are four pillars in the balcony. If you're in the center section or on the far sides, you won't see them. Otherwise the view was fine.

I had extreme right balcony seats last weekend. Because I was the last seat on the row, I had trouble seeing part of the stage. (I think I missed 2 minutes of the show...not a big deal) The view, in general, was fine (although being in the front row of the balcony, I found myself leaning forward in order to view the front of the stage). Be careful with your camera (don't use a flash)...the usher went crazy on a girl who took a photo(long before the show started).

Sat there once and found it difficult to see. You can see the stage but struggle to see facial expressions and small movements.

"I sat in the middle section of the balcony and thought the seats were fine and the Ushers were great. They finally told one lady who was constantly on her phone, "Turn the phone off or leave"."

I would have stabbed her long before the ushers ever got there. I wish theaters made people check their phones up front, or immediately threw people out who turned on or looked at their phones. They paid for the ticket already, and there are no refunds. The theater loses nothing expect dickholes with no respect for other patrons, cast and crew.

I am seeing Matilda in two weeks. I have a front row Mezzanine seat. Front row usually eliminates having to deal with awful people like that because there is no one in front of you. I hope the ushers are attentive.

I've sat in the second and third row of the House Right Balcony. The view was fine, unless someone in front of you leans forward. Then of course, you have to ask them to sit back and they are shocked! Why would you ever be given a seat with a back to lean on?

Or don't use your camera at all.

To the first part of what you said, checking a phone won't work. It would cause too much chaos before and after the show. Getting out of a show can be pretty chaotic as it is. Not to mention people are in a rush and the area itself is busy.

I sat in that exact row a few weeks ago. There was one pillar obstructing my view a bit, but it was not much of a distraction. A few visual technicalities were given away (the kids pushing up the tables in the opening number, them going into the boxes for the Hammer song), however, which was inevitable given the angle of the seats. Overall, it didn't taint my feelings about the show.

Hope you had a good time!

I sat near the top of the balcony and the view was basically perfect. There are some points where actors walk in from orchestra level that I missed, but it didn't matter!

Anyone that uses a flash to take a picture (even before the show) is stupid. You're not supposed to take pictures, and using a flash just draws attention to you breaking the rules. If you want a picture, just make sure your screen is dimmed and the flash is off and do it discreetly. Using a flash is basically saying "LOOK!!! I'm breaking the rules!!!".

I sat in the Mezzanine. It was a great view. The audience was VERY rude. Talking, phones, etc.
