Mr. Freeman might not have been the first Disney voice actor to originate a role they previously did in the film for a stage production. Paige O'Hara was offered to originate the role of Belle in 'Beauty and the Beast' on Broadway, but turned it down.

I'm seeing this in Toronto and it'll be interesting what changes have been made in the two years since the Seattle pilot production.

^ I can't remember all of the songs from the Seattle tryout, but in the film's soundtrack, Freeman sings "Prince Ali reprise", "Humilate the Boy", and "Why Me?"
