I'm watching last Wednesday's show right now, and I think Charlotte needs to stop looking at that guy like that right in front of Avery. She's gonna lose him.
Anyone still watching this glorious mess of a show? I was unreasonably happy that Rayna pulled out of the wedding and that Avery and Juliette went and got married.
Yes, still watching. Just like many of the other ABC dramas tend to do after some time, this one is straying further away from its original intent and "heart." It's becoming less about the music and more about the dirty laundry. That being said, there are some delicious soap opera surprises thrown in here. I laughed out loud when Gunnar revealed the paternity test results to Scarlet. Too good.
Also still watching, but I don't pretend NASHVILLE is anything but a guilty pleasure.
Speaking of pleasure, how nice to have Laura Benanti actually singing songs! I love Connie Britton, but she and Haden Panetierre are so auto-tuned and submerged into the instrumentals that they remind me of the Easy Listening albums of the 1960s.
One question: why does the Australian girl who plays Deacon's niece go everywhere in her pajamas?
Claire Bowen doesn't leave her house in pajamas so I don't know what that means. She wears a lot of layers usually.
I love this show, it's great soapy stuff, and Juliet has been extra hilarious this year. I love that Will Chase has found TV success, and it was pretty obvious she wasn't going to marry him. Luke's jealous, got a bad attitude, and has hissy fits. I sincerely hope Layla is dead because the actress portraying her was over acting the entire time.
Still watching too--though I am a few behind. But I agree with Gaveston, I watch mostly in a guilty pleasure way (though I think it's one of the better acted guilty pleasures I watch... mostly.)
Are we sure Layla's dead? I was just starting to not hate her.
Can we discuss Will's hair for a second? It's...unfortunate. Is that an attempt to butch him up? Or to just keep boys at bay.
I love the soapiness. And Rayna is just a mess. Like, messier than Juliette mess. I do think losing T-Bone Burnett as the music producer has led to less distinctive music...but whatevs. I find the show (and Charles Esten) delicious.
Robbie, thanks for that tidbit about T Bone. I had no idea. Perhaps that's why the show has lost some of its focus on the music. Don't get me wrong... love the soapy drama, too. But also miss all the music they used to feature. They did it so well, and proved it's possible (SMASH was the failure).
