I did the early shift, so stop by later and let us know what were your best finds today! I was in the market for a few windowcards to decorate my new apartment. I got Curtains for $10, Finian's Rainbow for $1, Drowsy Chaperone signed by OBC and playbill signed by OBC for $30 together, Little Shop Original Off-Broadway windowcard for $10, and A Chorus Line Revival Windowcard for $2. I was looking at paying at least $20 for each online, so they were great finds for me!

Happy hunting to all those braving the crowds this afternoon!

I actually have two friends there. Neither have a specific list of wants, but were told "If it's something you think I need, or screams me, get it."

So...we'll see.

18 Cast Recordings that I bargained down to $2-$3 each

RENT OBC windowcard - $5
A STEADY RAIN windowcard - $5

I'm sure I'll be bringing home much more as the day goes on.

I can't say I got anything particularly rare or super unique, but I got:
- a promotional CD for the Ragtime Revival for $2
- a Hal Prince Show Boat program and Barbara Cook "Count Your Blessings" Christmas CD combined for $10 from ATW
- 2 Tony Award Playbills: 2008 (Gypsy, South Pacific, In the Heights, etc.) and 1988 (Phantom, Into the Woods, Patti in Anything Goes, etc.) $3 each, so $6
- Finian's Rainbow program for $5
- Ragtime revival program for $5
- LuPone Gypsy Tony Voters program (Souvenir Program w/ press quotes foldout) for $3
- Signed "Glinda" picture from Erin Mackey at the Wicked booth for $20 (I thought it was $20 to meet all 3 actors, not $20 each. I thought, What a deal! and lined up. My mistake. But oh well. It was nice talking to a great young up and coming star.)
- Little Night Music "Glamorous Life" note ("Darling, I miss you a lot, but darling this has to be short...", etc.) for $2.

I happen to hate crowds, so this was a big thing for me going. Enjoyed myself very much and got a few good items. I wanted a costume sketch, but they were all a bit out of my price range. Still, a nice hour and a half for a good cause!

Oh no! Well, it was fairly nice when I was there. Good luck to those who are still there!
May I add, kudos to Bernadette Peters for donating so many signed items at the Little Night Music table! I already have a nice signed picture, so I didn't buy any, but it was very nice of her. Updated On: 9/26/10 at 03:11 PM

I've said for a few years that the Flea Market is getting too big for its britches. At 1:30 when one couldn't get down 44th Street, I hightailed it out.

I did manage to pick up a bunch of things I was (and a lot more that I wasn't) looking for:

Free - Uncorrected proof of A Behanding in Spokane and a Hairspray highlights DVD
$1 - A pack of 5 programs: Memphis, Lend Me a Tenor, A View from the Bridge, Fela and Patti LuPone at Lincoln Center and a Behanding in Spokane script.
$2 - Lend Me a Tenor/Stanley Tucci Opening Night poster.
$2 - Mary Stuart script
$3 - Framed prop newspaper signed by John Lithgow, Kelli O'Hara, Brian d'Arcy James and the rest of the SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS cast.
$3 - The Simpsons Move on DVD
$5 - Next Fall script
$10 - Fela and The Color Purple scripts
$40 - Large pack of storyboards and character model drawings from The Simpsons.

If I could make a suggestion, and perhaps Yankeefan will agree with me, since much of the theatre district's most famous theatres (Imperial, Music Box, Booth, etc.) are on 45th street as well, why not extend the flea market to 45th street? It'd be roomier and would still "celebrate" the great New York theatre district.

Listening to the Ragtime revival's promo CD now. The first track is mostly Stephen Flaherty at the piano playing the title number. As a fan of piano playing and Broadway composers playing their own stuff, it's a great thrill. So one good purchase this afternoon! How's everyone else doing?

I was planning on heading back down there to see what's left and to see if prices have dropped. Do you think it's worthwhile to make another trip? Is the rain forcing any tables to close?

Oh my God Jordan! What a find! Is it rehearsal script or a Random House-published copy of the libretto? Either way, it's a find!

I came away with Marin Mazzie's Ragtime show jacket. I don't really know WHY I bought it, it was just sitting there like a shining beacon in front of me at the Bares table, so I snatched it up. It's signed on the inside and her monogram is on an internal pocket.

Now I just have to figure out wtf to do with it.

Where was the signed Drowsy poster & Playbill? I have a CD signed by the cast but a Playbill would have been nice!

I got a signed American Idiot Playbill from their table for $10, which was a great deal considering the BC/EFA table was selling them for $75.

I also got a signed 9 to 5 Playbill for $40 from the La Cage table.

Picked up a DVD of the Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road BC/EFA tribute concert for $10 from the Broadway Beat table. I was happy to see that since it was selling for $30 last year.

I also bought a window card frame for $25 from Triton Gallery. I was hoping to get two but I didn't want to drop $50. (Plus I really don't have the wall space!) I thought I remember people telling me they'd be cheaper. Maybe towards the end of the day? I just wasn't able to come back towards the end so I just grabbed the one for $25. (Now since I'm a sadist, someone tell me they dropped the prices way low at the end of the day!)

I wanted to get a signed La Cage window card, but I couldn't part with the $100.

And I really wanted to get my boyfriend one of those glitterly Liza's At The Palace shirts for $7, but they had no more smalls left. Best finds at the Flea Market?
