This is the first time since 2008 that Amanda has been in the news. She decided to take time off right when her career was on fire. Smart move.I always felt she was one of the few female comedians who actually had talent.She may have to come out of retirement and work.

Amanda was always praised because she DID stay out of trouble.She did stay out of the spotlight and was never caught out clubbing and partying.Guess it's better this happens now then when she was 16 but still.Hope she gets some help.

Amanda would've been great for fit as a catmember on 'SNL' like her former 'All That' co-star, Kenan Thompson. She did a great Lucy Ricardo impression on 'All That' and she could've done stuff like that on 'SNL'. After her film career ended, she should've auditioned for 'SNL'.

MAJOR BUMP, but so much for her not being a child star with problems. She was arrested for a DUI.

But...she was arrested at the age of 26. Not sure if one DUI (and a bit of a sideswipe) for a 26 year-old counts as "problems" for a "child star".

Ever wonder what happens when you put a former B+ female tweener who gets her own first show and you mix her with a former B list television actress from a long running hit ensemble show who also thinks she is the star? You get several years of pleasantness on the outside and the worst conditions ever on a show on the inside. The former tweener had a huge ego. Coming off some movies and a very popular tween show she thought she was going to be the biggest star on the planet. She also had a very goody goody image on the outside, but on multiple occasions had more than one guy at once. She is also a huge collector of her own homemade porn.

The actress coming into the show who had been on the hit ensemble show also was a goody goody on the inside and out but it did not stop her from being a diva. She also could be the biggest bitch on the planet if you crossed her. As she told the tweener once after they got into a hair pulling fight, "I learned from the meanest actress who ever walked onto a television set. You will lose."

How about the times that our tweener would walk around naked when the actresses husband would stop by the set. "Oops. I did not know you were here." Not that she would ever normally have sex with him. She likes big, big big guys if you know what I mean. However, to get back at the actress she would have slept with the husband who is also a B list movie actor.

For years the two never spoke to each other unless they had to. Knowing how prudish the actress was, our tweener would have wild sex as loudly and as close to the actress as possible even when her kids were visiting. She would even have sex in the actresses' trailer and have her companions leave their used condoms. It was a wild wild set and the two still hate each other. (CDAN)

^ I agree. While I don't condone DUI's at all, lots of people get them and it doesn't mean that they suddenly have lots of problems. They just made poor judgement and got caught. If it was multiple, that would be a different story.

And TMZ did report she was seen on St. Patrick's Day drunk. That's a very poor example because lots of people get drunk that day.

I never heard of that Blind Item of the Week before but I can sure believe it. WHat paper was that from?

Amanda is CLEARLY not learning from her mistake. Is she looking for attention? Either way the girl needs SERIOUS help!

We're told hotel staff members were aware Bynes had been drinking at the nightclub at The Standard on Thursday evening ... hours before her DUI arrest ... and didn't want to be associated with the actress in case she pulled a repeat performance.

Sources say Bynes and her friends left the hotel without incident.

If she's looking for attention, it sounds like she's contacting TMZ to report some really uneventful stuff. It's not like these reports are spiraling into Spears, Lohan or Winehouse territory. For a Hollywood youngster, this pretty much IS goody-goody behavior.

I've not checked on recent Blind Items but that BI in particular was one that EVERYBODY guessed it to be.

Maybe it's best for child/teen stars to drop the pretense and let vices be known. I am starting to think Miley Cyrus may end up being one of the people who will come out alive just because it seems she is not afraid to hide the fact that she likes pot and will joke about it casually rather than having a PR team still make her out to be a squeaky clean teen idol. I am sure Hillary Duff and Tisdale still maintained that image publicly and privately but not everybody can do it or rather, do it on their accord.

Her father said that she was not drunk.

"I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn't drink."

Rick Bynes claims the the cop who arrested Amanda was at fault for pulling out in front of the actress as she was turning at the West Hollywood intersection where she was cited. Rick adamantly says his daughter was not impaired, explaining that she was arrested because "she was upset and very emotional."

He also added that Amanda was released with no bail, Rick went on to say, "She is a good girl. She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her."

It's completely unfair, but she's always rubbed me the wrong way--she's just one of those people who I see in anything and think how unpleasant she seems like she would be--which yes, I admit is pretty unreasonable of me.

Maybe Amanda's father needs to see the video of her from March 17th when the guys at TMZ even said she should not be driving because she was so wasted. I know a father will defend their child but Amanda WAS drunk on St.Patricks Day (as the video shows) and no cop is gonna risk their job and "accidentally" give someone a DUI. C'mon!

A source is saying that she has "Has Been a Little Lost" in Recent Years.

And a source tells PEOPLE that Bynes "seemed fine to drive" when she left the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood – where she is a regular and had dinner Thursday night before her arrest. She had alcohol, but "never seemed drunk," the source says.

Bynes then went to Greystone Manor (where she's also a regular), and was arrested after leaving there. Adds the source: "Bynes tried to come back to party [at the Standard] only hours after she was released from her DUI arrest," but she is no longer welcome at the hotel.

Bynes was held overnight at the West Hollywood Sheriff's department's station following her arrest. Though authorities would not comment on her particular case, the sheriff's station website states, "If the offense is alcohol or drug related, the suspect will stay at the sheriff's station until he or she can safely care for himself or herself."

Another source, who calls Bynes "a very sweet girl," says, "[She] was raised in the industry and came up in the industry, so she has kind of a twisted head space in terms of social groups."

I was just watching Easy A over the weekend and totally forgot she was in that film. Then I totally remembered why I totally forgot. Other than when sharpening pencils, I found her to be completely average (though Emma Stone easily tops her in that scene with hardly any effort). She had some funny lines, but just wasn't very funny.

She also hates being compared to Lindsay Lohan and is refusing to go to rehab:

I think she needs to stay home once in a while. Invite some friends over.She goes out to bars and nightclubs every night. She is not the best driver in the world. Few weeks ago she was pulled over by a cop and thought he was taking too much time writing up her ticket,so she fled the scene.Few nights later she is videotaped by of all people, a TMZ videographer, who pleads for her NOT to drive because she is so wasted. Then she gets a DUI. Now she is getting all pissy because people are concerned she might have some problems?

Amanda seems to be adding to her problems. Either she just doesn't get it or she loves the attention she is suddenly getting. I agree with some of what the article says but Amanda needs to get a new publicist and stay out of the clubs for a while.At least until her DUI is resolved.

One former child, who is still acting to this day and has not faced any legal troubles, that I forgot to mention earlier is Michelle Trachtenberg who played the lead in 'Harriet the Spy' and also appeared on 'The Adventures of Pete & Pete'. This is a photo of her from February 2012.
