The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre first opened in 1996 and since then has become a popular entertainment destination for families looking for a fun weekend activity, it has also become a great spot for birthday parties and school trips.  In all of that time, there has only been one open casting call for Children's Theatre productions, as the casts are usually made up of performers who are invited to join a cast.  In addition, the cast for The Children's Theatre productions is made up of professional adult actors.  For the first time in its history, the Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre is holding an open casting call for children performers.

On Monday, December 6, 2010, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the theatre, Way Off Broadway will hold auditions for its upcoming 2011 Season-opener, Disney's 101 Dalmatians Kids.  Fourteen child performers are being sought to alternate the roles of the Dalmatians.

Those auditioning should be at least 9 years old and a maximum of 5'2" tall.  They must be strong singers and should bring sheet music for their audition; an accompanist will be provided.  All those auditioning will sing, dance, and read from the script.  No appointments are necessary.

Way Off Broadway's production will run January 29 - March 19, 2011, and will be directed by Susan Thornton with musical direction by Jordan Stocksdale.

Children's Theatre performances are every Saturday afternoon and the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, as well as select added weekday performances throughout the run.
