Olney Theatre Center has invited local sexual health educators to discuss the issues in the upcoming production of Spring Awakening with the public on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 7:30pm in Olney Theatre Center's Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab.

WHAT: In a time when schools across the nation are weighing the value of abstinence-only sex-education programs, or fretting over whether or not to allow the distribution of condoms, Spring Awakening makes a passionate and deeply moving argument in favor of open discussion and the sharing of information. Although parents may instinctively want to protect their kids from the harsh realities of the adult world, the play firmly insists that when dealing with sexuality, ignorance will definitely not lead to bliss.

The musical is beyond sex and controversial issues. It's about conversation-one that Olney Theatre Center invites the Washington D.C. metro area to be a part of.

Keeping with this theme we are hosting the "Let's Talk About Sex" Panel Discussion with local sexual health educators which is open to the public, free of charge.
