Everyman Theatre Wins Downtown Baltimore Award

Everyman Theatre will be the recipient of the prestigious "Downtown Baltimore Award" from the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore.  The award will be presented to the theatre company on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore's 2012 Annual Meeting.  The Annual Meeting will take place from 5:30 to 8:00 PM and Hopkins Plaza. 

Everyman Theatre is being recognized for its significant contributions to the Downtown community.  Past award recipients include 1st Mariner Arena, Health Care for the Homeless and Visit Baltimore.

The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore is a non-profit corporation that creates a more vibrant community for businesses, property owners, residents, employees, and visitors.

The theatre company, which was founded in 1990, will be moving from its current Charles Street location into the newly renovated former Town Theatre on Fayette Street this coming January.  Everyman will be celebrating its Grand Opening during the week of January 14 – 20, 2013.  The company will present the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, August: Osage County by Tracy Letts, as its inaugural production.

Everyman Theatre is a professional Equity theatre company celebrating the actor, with the resident company of artists from the Baltimore/DC area.  Founded in 1990 by Vincent Lancisi, the theatre is dedicated to engaging the audience through a shared experience between actor and audience seeking connection and emotional truth in performance.  Everyman is dedicated to presenting high quality plays that are affordable and accessible to everyone.
