As part of Everyman Theatre's upcoming production of Michael Hollinger's Under the Skin, the theatre is proud to announce a multi-faceted community engagement partnership with four organ donation organizations. Everyman will be working with The Living Legacy Foundation, The Kidney Foundation of MD, Donate Life Maryland and TRIO Maryland to share information with audiences about organ donation, a central topic of the upcoming play.

The partnership will culminate in a special event on February 14, 2016, which is National Donor Day. Following the matinee performance of Under the Skin, patrons are invited to listen to and, if applicable, share their experiences with fellow organ donors, recipients and their families.

Everyman will be donating a portion of the proceeds from every full price ticket purchased through one of our partner organizations back to that specific organization.

"The themes and topics behind Under the Skin are universal," explains Managing Director Jonathan K. Waller. "Regardless of who you are, the odds are pretty strong that you or someone you know will somehow be affected by organ donation at some point in your life. Using this idea as a catalyst, we're excited to partner with these four organizations to bring an important issue to the forefront of our minds and help us connect our community through theatre."

"We are thrilled that Everyman Theatre is using their voice in the community to engage their audience and share this life-saving message," said Libby Wolfe of Donate Life Maryland.

In addition to the National Donor Day event, representatives from the four partner organizations will be in attendance in the lobby for every performance to talk about organ transplants and donations. Volunteers will wear green pins (the color for organ donation) to signify that they are willing to share their stories. Audience members are encouraged to have conversations with these volunteers before and after the show.

Throughout the rehearsal process, representatives from the partner organizations have been on-hand to share their experiences and lend their expertise to members of the cast. Representatives (including organ donors and recipients) will also be attendance at the Opening Night performance.

Under the Skin will run from January 20 through February 21. Tickets are on sale now and range in price from $10 to $60. Tickets may be purchased by calling 410.752.2208, visiting www.everymantheatre.org or in person at 315 W. Fayette Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

Everyman Theatre is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. Funding for the Maryland State Arts Council is also provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Everyman Theatre is a proud member of the Bromo Tower Arts and Entertainment District.
