Following the recent unveiling of the 2017 Children's Theatre Season at Way Off Broadway, the theatre's producers are extremely excited to announce a change in the line-up. Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. will now open the season, taking the place of Garfield: The Musical with Catittude.

Children's Theatre audiences will be taken on a journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture. In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home - and her fins - behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking

"We have been hoping to include The Little Mermaid on one of The Children's Theatre seasons for years," says Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway's Executive Producer & CEO, "so when the unexpected opportunity came up to obtain the rights for a production, we jumped at the chance. Opening with an incredible Disney show like this will be a great way to kick off the year."

Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. will run from February 4th - April 8th. Following the season-opener, the year continues with the Disney collection and a production of Disney's Cinderella. The fall will bring the regional premiere of the brand new Madagascar - A Musical Adventure, adapted from the hit Dreamworks film. Rounding out the season, for the holidays, will be the revival of the theatre's own A Children's Theatre Christmas Carol.

Children's Theatre performances are every Saturday afternoon and the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Guests arrive at 11:30 a.m. for lunch with the show beginning at 12:30 p.m. and running until 1:30 p.m. All tickets are $17 per person for lunch and the show.

Tickets for Disney's The Little Mermaid are now on sale.

In addition, packages are available for birthday parties, as well as weekday performances for school groups.
